Lexus Korea officially launched its first dedicated electric vehicle, the All-New Electric RZ, along with the New Generation RX, at a press conference held at the Lotte World Mall in Jamsil on the 21st.

The global Lexus brand is contributing to carbon neutrality by introducing a full lineup of electrified vehicles, including hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEV), and battery electric vehicles (BEV), tailored to the energy situations and needs of customers worldwide. Lexus Korea has accelerated its electrification strategy, starting last year with the launch of the New Generation NX and the UX 300e, offering various options suited to the lifestyles of Korean customers.

Debuting is the RZ450e, a pure electric vehicle powered by Lexus’ first dedicated electric vehicle platform, marking a pivotal moment in the brand’s evolution, showcasing new design directions and driving performance.

Designed on the BEV-exclusive e-TNGA platform, it boasts a packaging optimized for electric vehicles, featuring a newly developed e-axle system with direct four-wheel drive, delivering stability and powerful performance.

Equipped with a large 71.4kWh lithium-ion battery specifically for BEV and the first Lexus use of a silicon carbide inverter, it offers a driving range of up to 377 km on a single charge, generating a powerful output of 312 hp.

Furthermore, it features a new design identity based on the Lexus spindle body, which achieves an aerodynamic silhouette. The interior space, following the Tazuna concept, provides an environment where the driver can focus on driving. Additionally, the Lexus Safety System Plus, a preventative safety feature, comes standard.

The RZ 450e luxury model includes a large panoramic glass roof that boasts a sense of spaciousness and visibility, along with a radiant heater for comfort during winter.

The ‘All-New Electric RZ’ is being offered as an ‘Auto Care Lease’ that includes pickup and vehicle maintenance services to provide a reasonable value for electric vehicle experience. Customers who purchase will receive a special gift of charging points worth 1 million won through the ‘Lexus Electrified Membership’.

The ‘All-New Electric RZ’ will be available in two grades: Supreme and Luxury, with suggested retail prices of △RZ 450e Supreme 84.8 million won and △RZ 450e Luxury 92.5 million won (including VAT and based on individual consumption tax of 3.5%).

The RX, which has pioneered the new segment of luxury crossovers since launching the RX 400h in 2006, has been a leader in electrified vehicles, achieving excellent driving and environmental performance, and remains a core model beloved by numerous customers of Lexus.

The newly launched fifth-generation New Generation RX is offering hybrid model RX 350h, plug-in hybrid model RX 450h+, and turbo engine hybrid model RX 500h F SPORT Performance, providing three powertrain options based on the electrification vision of Lexus Electrified.

The ‘New Generation RX’ features a seamless grille applied to the spindle body, embodying a vibrant and futuristic design. The interior reflects the Tazuna concept, hosting an intuitive shift-by-wire shift lever for driver interaction with the vehicle, along with a panoramic view monitor, head-up display, a 14-inch large touch display linked with the Lexus Connect app, and e-latch door handles, offering enhanced convenience and a spacious, luxurious SUV experience.

The debuting ‘New Generation RX’ showcases differentiated Lexus driving signatures through its three electrified powertrain options. The RX 350h features a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine and a high-efficiency hybrid system, yielding a total system output of 249 horsepower while achieving an excellent combined fuel efficiency of 13.6 km/l.

The plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ combines a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with an 18.1 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery, achieving a total system output of 309 horsepower. It can drive approximately 56 km purely on electric mode on a single charge, with a combined fuel efficiency of 14.0 km/l (gasoline).

The newly introduced RX 500h F SPORT Performance model integrates a 2.4-liter turbo engine with a hybrid system and a new bipolar nickel-metal battery, achieving a powerful total system output of 371 horsepower.

The Direct4 all-wheel drive system and the e-Axle, equipped with a high-output motor of about 76 kW, deliver excellent traction and steering stability while enhancing handling and driving stability with dynamic rear steering.

Additionally, to ensure peace of mind while focusing on driving, the ‘Lexus Safety System Plus (LSS+)’ is included as standard. The ‘New Generation RX’ is set to launch a ‘special variable interest installment’ program reflecting CD rates to accommodate customers facing high installment interest burdens due to recent high interest rates. Customers who purchase the RX 450h+ will receive charging points worth 500,000 won as part of the ‘Lexus Electrified Membership’.

The suggested retail prices for the ‘New Generation RX’ are as follows: △RX 350h Luxury 97.4 million won, △RX 450h+ 108.5 million won, and △RX 500h F SPORT Performance 115.6 million won (including VAT and based on individual consumption tax of 3.5%).

Kang Dae-hwan, Senior Vice President of Korea Toyota Motor Corporation, stated, “With the launch of the first pure electric vehicle ‘All-New Electric RZ’ and the newly transformed fifth-generation ‘New Generation RX’, we aim to accelerate Lexus’ electrification, providing various options tailored to customers’ lifestyles.
