General Motors shook off its slump and smiled brightly with the Trax Crossover, while other manufacturers saw a decline.

In April, domestic car sales reached 128,588 units, down 8.7% compared to the previous month’s 140,926 units. Hyundai recorded 54,473 units, a decrease of 11.8% from the previous month’s 61,794 units. The Grandeur saw sales of 9,997 units, a drop of 8.4%. Out of the Grandeur sales, 5,179 units were hybrids. The Porter reached 9,068 units, down 11.8% from the previous month’s 10,282 units. Among these, 2,885 units of the Porter EV were sold, indicating that one in three Porter buyers chose the electric vehicle. The Avante sold 5,278 units, down 20% from the previous month’s 6,619 units.

Genesis recorded 12,187 units, down 4.3% from 12,735 units the previous month. The G80 saw slight declines to 4,573 units, down 2.1% from 4,670 units. The GV80 recorded 2,916 units, an increase of 4.7% compared to 2,786 units the previous month. The GV70 recorded 2,766 units, down 7.1% from the prior month.

Kia recorded 49,314 units, decreasing 7.2% from the previous month’s 53,158 units. The Sorento sold 6,835 units, down slightly by 0.8% from 6,890 units the previous month. The Carnival saw a decline to 6,481 units, down 5.7%. The Sportage recorded an increase to 6,282 units, up 4.4% from the prior month’s 6,018 units.

KG Mobility saw 5,583 units sold, down 37% from the 8,904 units the previous month. The Torres recorded 3,553 units, a sharp decline of 46% from the previous month’s 6,595 units. The Rexton Sport totaled 1,358 units, down 9.3% from 1,497 units last month. The Tivoli sold 297 units, down 21% from the previous month’s 376 units.

General Motors recorded 5,230 units, surging by 207% from 1,699 units the previous month, standing out like a swan among the falling brands. The standout model for General Motors has been the Trax Crossover, which started deliveries last month, recording sales of 3,072 units, establishing itself as the savior for General Motors amid sluggish sales.

Thanks to the Trax Crossover’s sales, the Trailblazer also saw a boost, with 1,042 units sold, up 68% from 620 units the previous month. The Spark sold 307 units, down 25% from 410 units last month.

Renault recorded 1,801 units, down 31% from the previous month’s 2,636 units. The QM6 totaled 994 units, decreasing by 29.5% compared to 1,409 units last month. The XM3 sold 612 units, down 36% from 964 units the previous month. The SM6 recorded 195 units, a decrease of 25.9% compared to 263 units last month.
