Peugeot has globally unveiled the facelifted model of the ‘2008 SUV’, set to launch this summer.

The compact SUV ‘2008 SUV’, which was launched in Europe in 2019, has been a bestseller in the B-segment SUV market for over three years. The newly launched ‘New Peugeot 2008 SUV’, following a four-year facelift, encapsulates Peugeot’s ambition to enter the upmarket segment with even more advanced design and technology.

The newly revealed ‘New Peugeot 2008 SUV’ applies signature elements throughout the exterior, enhancing Peugeot’s identity while emphasizing the characteristics of an SUV. The front end has been redesigned to feature a larger and more pronounced lion head emblem, and the Peugeot signature lights have been freshly designed to resemble three lion claws.

The bumper, treated in glossy black, combines with the front design to create a robust SUV impression. The three lion claw marks etched into the LED rear lamps complete a more refined and elegant style, giving the compact SUV a visually wider appearance.

The interior features Peugeot’s latest ‘i-Cockpit’ design, emphasizing a driver-centered comfortable driving experience. The instrument cluster is positioned above the steering wheel for easy information access while driving, and the compact steering wheel enhances the fun of driving. Additionally, the layout of the 10-inch digital display, including color and information, can be customized to the driver’s preference, and a central 10-inch touchscreen is standard across all trims.

The ‘New Peugeot 2008 SUV’ supports various safety and convenience features to maximize the driving experience. The Allure trim comes with the basic Peugeot i-Connect system, while the GT trim enhances the vehicle’s connectivity through Peugeot’s advanced infotainment system, i-Connect Advanced.

Moreover, it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, blind spot monitoring, and grip control modes that can handle various terrains such as sand, mud, and snow, ensuring safe and agile driving.

The ‘New Peugeot e-2008 SUV’, equipped with a pure electric powertrain, has drastically improved driving range and power. The battery capacity has increased from the previous 50kWh to 54kWh, enhancing the driving range from 345km to 406km, approximately an 18% improvement (according to WLTP), while power has also increased by 15% compared to the previous model, delivering a robust 156 horsepower. The ability to charge the battery from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes with a 100kW rapid charger is also highlighted as a major advantage.

For the internal combustion engine models, the powertrains consist of two gasoline engines delivering 100 horsepower and 130 horsepower, respectively, and a 130-horsepower diesel engine. The gasoline engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic EAT transmission, while the diesel engine is mated with an 8-speed EAT transmission.

Mathias Hossan, Peugeot’s design director, stated, “With the new 2008 SUV, Peugeot continues to strengthen its lion-like identity and unique technology. The front lighting, a key component of the new 2008 SUV’s design, further emphasizes the muscular, solid style of Peugeot SUVs and suggests that the new 2008 SUV has entered the upmarket.”
