Hyundai Motor Company is set to launch the ‘All-New Kona Electric’ on the 13th.

The Kona Electric is equipped with a 64.8kWh battery, offering an impressive range of 417km on a single charge, meeting the best standards in its class (Long-range, based on 17-inch wheels), according to the domestic Ministry of Industry certification.

Additionally, it features Kona’s unique design and various safety and convenience specifications that enhance its market competitiveness.

Hyundai applied a new design approach where the electric vehicle model is designed first, inheriting the unique design of the previous Kona while achieving a stronger and more futuristic look.

The elegant shape, smoothly refined from the bumper to the hood, emphasizes the Kona Electric’s pure volume while achieving an excellent drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.27 and the best range in its class on a single charge.

The exclusive colors for the Kona Electric include Meta Blue Pearl for the exterior and an Eco Package (Dark Gray One-Tone) for the interior. The Eco Package features eco-friendly natural leather/suede seats, a headrest made of mesh material in the front row, headlining, and floor mats made from recycled materials.

The Kona Electric boasts top-level product competitiveness with numerous convenience and advanced safety features based on SDV (Software-Defined Vehicle).

Hyundai has enhanced customer satisfaction by equipping the vehicle with wireless software updates, a next-gen infotainment system ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit), and an e hi-pass feature that allows payment without a physical card by linking with car payments.

Moreover, essential safety features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Side Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Safe Exit Warning, and Driver Attention Warning, are standard across all models.

Additionally, advanced safety and convenience options such as Highway Driving Assist 2, Head-Up Display, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC, highway entrance/exit), Remote Smart Parking Assist, Surround View Monitor, and Side Monitoring are available for selection.

The sale price of the Kona Electric starts at 46.54 million Korean won for the standard premium model, 49.68 million for the long-range premium model, and 53.23 million for the Inspiration model. (* Prices are based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax before electric vehicle tax benefits and will be announced later after certification of eco-friendly vehicles.)

Considering the individual consumption tax benefits and purchase subsidies when buying an electric vehicle, the standard premium model is expected to be available for the mid-30 million Korean won range, while the long-range premium model is expected to be in the mid to upper-30 million Korean won range. (* Average subsidy amounts across the country as guidance; actual amounts may vary by municipality.)

In conjunction with the launch of the Kona Electric, Hyundai will kick off a TV launch campaign from the 13th under the theme of ‘A New Dimension of EV Life.’

This campaign will use the music track ‘Rule Breaker,’ created in collaboration with artists Gray and Coogie from the famous domestic hip-hop label AOMG, enhancing the appeal of the Kona Electric. The official music track will be released on streaming platforms at the end of this month.

A Hyundai official stated, “The All-New Kona Electric is a model with outstanding product competitiveness that transcends vehicle classes, showcasing advanced safety and convenience features alongside electric vehicle-specialized functions. It will present a new dimension of lifestyle to various customers.”
