Porsche unveils the new third-generation Cayenne, which has become more powerful through product upgrades.

The newly unveiled Cayenne is further enhanced as a luxury SUV with highly digitized displays and operating methods, new chassis technologies, and innovative advanced features through this facelift.

Michael Schätzle, Vice President of the Cayenne product line, emphasized, “The new Cayenne is one of the most significant product upgrades in Porsche’s brand history.” The high-resolution HD matrix LED headlights illuminate the road according to all driving conditions, while the air purification system filters pollutants from the cabin air. Notably, an individual infotainment display for front seat passengers is included for the first time in Cayenne models. With extensively improved design and a more powerful engine, the new Cayenne positions itself as the sportiest model in the SUV segment.

Porsche has integrated a completely newly designed display and operating method in the new Cayenne. The ‘Porsche Driver Experience’, first introduced through the Taycan, offers a driver-focused optimized operation through a perfect balance of digital and analog.

Commonly used functions by the driver are placed around the steering wheel, and a function for operating the driver assistance system has been added to the left lever behind the steering wheel. The automatic transmission selector lever is positioned on the dashboard, creating a spacious center console design with an elegant black panel for the air conditioning controller and storage. The control switches, combining air conditioning switches and haptic volume controllers, are large and easily accessible, ensuring optimal operation with a refined design.

The driver’s seat in the new Cayenne features a new 12.6-inch full digital instrument panel with a uniquely designed curved independent design and variable display options. An optimized head-up display is also available as an option. The centrally integrated 12.3-inch Porsche Communication Management system allows central control of various vehicle functions, with optimized connectivity for apps like Spotify and Apple Music.

For the passenger seat, a 10.9-inch display is offered for the first time as an option in the Cayenne. It provides options for performance data display, control of the infotainment system, and video content streaming, enriching the driving experience for front seat passengers. A special film is applied to the passenger display so that it is not visible from the driver’s seat, ensuring that it does not distract during driving.

The new Cayenne showcases an aggressive impression with refined design and innovative lighting technology. A new front end combined with a stronger arched wing, a new hood, and technically enhanced headlights emphasize the vehicle’s width, while the three-dimensional tail lights and clean surfaces integrate a new rear apron design, completing the rear-end aesthetics.

An expanded color palette, including three new colors, a Cayenne Coupe lightweight sports package that can reduce weight by up to 33kg, and further enhanced wheel options in 20, 21, and 22 inches, allow for even more dynamic personalization of the new Cayenne.

Matrix LED headlights come as standard, while HD matrix LED headlights are newly offered as an option. Innovative technology with two high-resolution modules and over 32,000 pixels in the headlights identifies oncoming drivers and pixelates the high beam light to reduce glare. The brightness of the modules can be adjusted in more than 1,000 steps depending on the driving situation. Customizable lighting modes enhance safety and comfort in various driving conditions.

Porsche has applied a new air purification system in the new Cayenne. It uses navigation data to detect approaching tunnel entrances and automatically activates the air recirculation function. Sensors selectively detect the concentration of fine dust particles in the air and, if necessary, multiple passes through the fine dust filter. Additionally, the installed ionizer removes a significant amount of bacteria and contaminants from the air, making it particularly useful for allergy sufferers.

The newly optimized and extensive assistance systems are available. The new Cayenne includes an active speed limiter, lane change assist, cornering assist, and an improved Porsche InnoDrive as part of the adaptive cruise control. This actively assists the driver not only in traffic jams on highways and major roads but also in hazardous situations.

The new Cayenne comes standard with steel spring suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The new shock absorbers utilize a two-valve technology that separates the rebound and compression stages, allowing optimal performance in all driving situations. Ride comfort at low speeds, handling during dynamic cornering, and roll/pitch control have been significantly improved. The new adaptive air suspension with two chambers and two-valve technology enhances the driving experience.

The base model and smoother suspension compared to previous models stabilize the vehicle and allow easy on-and-off-road handling. The adaptive air suspension enhances driving precision and performance while minimizing body movement in dynamic driving situations. The suspension distinctly differentiates between normal, sport, and sport plus driving modes.

Porsche introduces three engine types for the Cayenne in the European market. The new Cayenne S is equipped with a thoroughly upgraded 4-liter V8 bi-turbo engine that replaces the previous V6 engine. The maximum output is increased by 34 horsepower to 474 horsepower, and the maximum torque is boosted by 6.1 kg·m to 61.2 kg·m. Both the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 273 km/h. The base model of the new Cayenne, featuring a 3-liter V6 turbo engine, shows a 13 horsepower increase to a total of 353 horsepower, while the maximum torque increases by 5.1 kg·m to 51 kg·m.

The new Cayenne E-Hybrid, equipped with a six-cylinder engine, features a new electric motor that delivers 176 horsepower (PS, 130 kW), improved by 30kW over the previous model, resulting in a total output of 470 horsepower. With the battery capacity increased from 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh, depending on the equipment level, it allows for a maximum of 90 km of pure electric driving according to WLTP standards. The new 11 kW onboard charger shortens charging time to under 2 hours and 30 minutes, despite the increase in battery capacity, given optimal charging conditions. The optimized e-hybrid driving modes improve the vehicle’s efficiency.

In markets outside Europe, the Turbo GT model, which maximizes on-road performance, continues to occupy the top position in the Cayenne portfolio. The Cayenne Turbo GT is available only as a coupe and includes all of Cayenne’s innovative and optimized features. With a 4-liter V8 bi-turbo engine that now produces an additional 19 horsepower, the new Cayenne Turbo GT offers a maximum output of 659 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 305 km/h.

The new Cayenne comes standard with matrix LED headlights, PASM, 20-inch wheels, front and rear park assist with a rear camera, and a smartphone tray that allows for charging up to 15 watts. The starting price for the new Cayenne in the German market, including VAT and country-specific special specifications, begins at €89,097.
