Stellantis Korea previewed the ‘New Peugeot 408’ one month ahead of its official launch on the 20th at the Peugeot Gangnam showroom in Seoul. The New 408 will then tour nine Peugeot showrooms across the country until May 21, meeting with customers.

Since its global unveiling in June last year, the New 408 has attracted significant attention from media in Korea and abroad, earning the nickname ‘the sports car for everyone’ due to its dynamic and efficient fastback silhouette and design. Debuting at the 2022 Paris Motor Show as a world premiere, the New 408 has already surpassed 16,000 contracts in Europe alone.

Introducing an unprecedented fastback style to the C-segment market, the New 408 is a crossover model that combines the shapes of sedan and SUV, incorporating the advantages of both.

The driver’s seat features a low driving position, and the compact steering wheel embodies the nimble handling characteristics unique to sedans. At the same time, it offers SUV-like visibility, and the trunk capacity expands from a standard 536 liters to 1,611 liters when the rear seats are folded down, making it highly practical for carrying various items. Additionally, the extended wheelbase ensures ample legroom and headroom for rear passengers.

In addition, Peugeot’s latest i-Cockpit provides a dynamic driving experience, supported by a 10-inch high-resolution central touchscreen, emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring, all designed to assist safe and smart driving.

The New 408 will be marketed under the Allure and GT trims, with detailed information on each trim and pricing to be announced later.

The ‘New 408 Preview Tour’ will take place from the 21st (Friday) to the 23rd (Sunday) starting at the Gangnam showroom, followed by stops in Suwon and Bundang (April 29-30), Busan and Ilsan (May 6-7), Gwangju and Changwon (May 13-14), and Daejeon and Cheonan (May 20-21). Visitors to the preview locations will have the opportunity to view and inquire about the New 408.

Jake Aumann, Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis Korea, stated, “With this preview starting, we plan to communicate with customers through various marketing campaigns related to the New 408. We are confident that the New 408 will become Peugeot’s representative model, showcasing the brand’s unique appeal to Korean customers.”
