Toyota Korea participated as an official sponsor of the “CJ Logistics Super Race Championship” for the fourth consecutive year, hosting the ‘GR Racing Class’ for customers at the Everland Speedway on the 22nd.

To invigorate domestic motorsports, Toyota Korea has been involved as the official cowl sponsor, applying the exterior design of the GR Supra to the racing cars of the “CJ Logistics Super Race Championship 6000 Class” since 2020. Last year, to expand its sports car lineup, it launched the ‘GR86’ that encapsulates the technology and expertise of Toyota Gazoo Racing.

During the two-day event on the 22nd and 23rd, Toyota Korea operated a Gazoo Racing booth at Everland Speedway, showcasing a range of GR lineup vehicles including the GR Supra stock car, GR Supra, and GR86. They also hosted a variety of child-centric events such as the GR Trophy photo event, GR LEGO car building contest, and GR86 RC car racing competition, engaging motorsports fans and attendees.

Additionally, the opening event held on the 22nd featured the ‘GR Racing Class’ for customers of Toyota GR models. Launched in 2021, the ‘GR Racing Class’ allows customers of the GR lineup, including the GR Supra and GR86, to experience motorsports firsthand and has received enthusiastic feedback each year. This year, 25 customers were selected to participate in various programs conducted by professional driving instructors, including driving technique theory education, real circuit racing education, pit tours, and circuit driving, receiving positive evaluations for enhancing theoretical education related to motorsports and increasing circuit driving time.

Gang Dae-Hwan, Executive Director of Toyota Korea, remarked, “Motorsports serve as an important testing ground in car development. It plays a crucial role in creating ‘better cars,’ and Toyota Korea will continue to introduce various programs to widely promote motorsport culture and provide customers with the joy of experience.”

Meanwhile, under its ‘Multi Pathway’ strategy that offers various electrification models, Toyota is contributing to carbon neutrality by launching fully electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and hybrid (HEV) models.

Furthermore, for a sustainable future, Toyota Gazoo Racing participates in extreme motorsport events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), and Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race, engaging in diverse challenges and research efforts.
