The GMC Sierra has finally announced its long-awaited arrival in South Korea. According to Roberto Rumpel, President of GM Korea, the delay was due to the necessity of achieving perfection in the launch.

On the 7th, General Motors officially launched the GMC brand alongside the Sierra, the first vehicle under this series. It has been eight months since they announced the brand launch and the arrival of the Sierra last June, which took longer than expected. Carlos Minert, Vice President of Sales, mentioned that “to ensure a successful brand launch and sales, a preparation period was necessary.” He added that time was needed to ensure the process would not have any issues when contracts were signed, and vehicles were delivered to customers.

Roberto Rumpel elaborated on Carlos’s statement, stating, “The entire process of new vehicle launches must be well-prepared,” emphasizing that “GM values the customer experience process.” He also mentioned, “This is because there are verification processes to ensure that parts for after-sales services are adequately secured, and that products are manufactured correctly, which is why we strive for perfection in new vehicle launches.”

Additionally, Rumpel expressed confidence in sales recovery, noting, “Although we are currently in a transitional phase, customer feedback has been positive.”
