Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 10th that they would provide a total relief donation of $2 million to support Turkey and Syria, which suffered significant damage from the earthquake. (※ $1.8 million for Turkey, $200,000 for Syria)

The donation will be delivered through the Korean Red Cross and will be used for local relief efforts and recovery activities.

According to a representative from Hyundai Motor Group, “We send our condolences to the people of Turkey and Syria who have been greatly affected by the sudden earthquake, and we hope this support can aid their swift recovery.”

In addition to the donation, Hyundai’s local corporation in Turkey is the first among Korean companies to announce support measures and has begun urgent relief activities. They are providing 250,000 euros for lifesaving equipment, such as cutting tools and grinders needed for rescue operations, and another 250,000 euros for essential supplies for disaster victims, including food, hygiene products, and warm clothing, totaling 500,000 euros in material donations.

Furthermore, they are offering a 50% discount on repair costs for vehicles damaged by the earthquake that do not qualify for insurance benefits, as well as regular inspection costs for vehicles in the disaster areas.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group has been supporting the international community by providing donations and essential supplies during major disasters abroad, such as the 2022 Hurricane Ian in the United States, the 2018 earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia, and the 2017 floods in Peru and Colombia.
