SsangYong Motor has introduced the Torres ‘Hybrid LPG model.’

The Torres Hybrid LPG model utilizes a bi-fuel system combining gasoline and LPG fuel, in contrast to competitors that rely solely on LPG. SsangYong representatives mention that for customers who frequently travel long distances, the fuel costs could be over 30% lower compared to gasoline, translating to significant economic benefits.

They emphasized that concerns about low power, low fuel efficiency, and starting issues in cold weather that are often associated with LPG vehicles are a thing of the past with the Torres Hybrid LPG model.

The Torres Hybrid LPG model boasts the environmentally-friendly 1.5ℓ GDI turbo gasoline engine (e-XGDi150T), delivering impressive performance with a maximum output of 170 horsepower and a maximum torque of over 28.6 kg·m, maintaining over 95% of its power during LPG operation (165 horsepower). When LPG fuel is fully utilized, the model automatically switches to gasoline mode, eliminating the hassle of searching for a gas station.

With fully filled tanks of gasoline (50ℓ) and LPG (58ℓ), the model can cover more than 1,000 km, alleviating the discomfort of frequent fueling, and avoids starting issues even in sub-zero winter temperatures by using gasoline instead of LPG during ignition.

The Hybrid LPG system applied to the Torres was developed through a technical partnership with Rotem, the country’s leading LPG specialist, enhancing quality to exceed that of specifications sold in Europe, the world’s largest LPG market. Consequently, the hybrid LPG system comes with an extended warranty period of 3 years/unlimited km, surpassing competitors’ offerings, while body, general components, engine, and drive transmission components are warranted for 5 years/100,000 km, achieving the highest level in its class.
