Iljin Precision, a company specializing in eco-friendly cold chain modifications, has signed a partnership with Beuron Technology, an autonomous driving solutions provider, to develop eco-friendly autonomous cold chain trucks.

For over 30 years, Iljin Precision has been at the forefront of manufacturing cold chain specialty vehicles. In 2020, they became the first in the world to develop and commercialize an electric cold chain truck – the Iljin no-idle electric refrigeration truck – selling more than 1,800 units of this eco-friendly electric cold chain vehicle to date, and have been selected as a maximum subsidy eligible vehicle for three consecutive years.

Since the launch of the world’s first electric cold chain vehicle in 2020, Iljin Precision has incorporated consumer feedback to expand their offerings by adding functionalities including refrigeration, freezing, defrosting, heating, and mobile storage options, allowing for a diverse range of choices for consumers.

Beuron Technology, working alongside Iljin Precision in the eco-friendly autonomous cold chain truck project, initially secured seed investments from Naver D2SF and subsequently raised 10 billion KRW in pre-A funding from firms such as Daesung Venture Investment and KDB Industrial Bank. The company gained considerable attention by successfully achieving stable autonomous driving in the U.S. and South Korea with just one LiDAR sensor and is currently expanding its autonomous driving endeavors both domestically and internationally.

The two companies will collaborate to integrate Beuron Technology’s autonomous driving solutions into Iljin Precision’s eco-friendly electric cold chain vehicles, in a joint effort to commercialize autonomous driving in the eco-friendly cold chain sector.

At CES 2023, Beuron Technology showcased their autonomous driving solution for eco-friendly cold chain trucks, gaining worldwide attention, and is set to obtain an autonomous driving license and conduct demonstrations in February based on their impressive autonomous driving technology.

Moving forward, Iljin Precision aims to refine their specialty and ESS aspects through practical demonstrations, while Beuron Technology will focus on advancing their autonomous driving solutions.

Director Jang Geun-ho of Iljin Precision stated, “We believe that our pursuit of eco-friendly cold chain vehicles will achieve another innovation in conjunction with Beuron’s autonomous driving solutions.”

Director Kang Sang-won of Beuron Technology remarked, “We expect to achieve great results from our unique demonstrations being conducted for the first time in the world through this partnership, as well as establish a strong foundation for enhancing our global business.”
