On the 27th, Hyundai Mobis announced that it recorded sales of 51.9 trillion won, operating profit of 2.2265 trillion won, and net profit of 2.4872 trillion won last year. Compared to the previous year, sales and net profits increased by 24.5% and 5.3%, respectively, while operating profit saw a slight decrease of 0.7%. This is the first time Hyundai Mobis’ annual sales have exceeded 50 trillion won.

Despite challenging factors such as global inflation, economic slowdown, and supply chain instability, Hyundai Mobis achieved these valuable results while continuing its transition to becoming a ‘future mobility provider’. Increased profitability in the electrification sector, expansion of high-value core part supply, and successful global sales activities drove sales growth. It is also encouraging that the sales of core parts have stabilized, surpassing the significantly increased sales from the electrification sector compared to the previous year.

For the fourth quarter of last year, Hyundai Mobis achieved sales of 14.9945 trillion won, operating profit of 660.4 billion won, and net profit of 636.6 billion won. Compared to the same period last year, sales saw a remarkable increase of nearly 30%, while operating profit and net profit rose by 24.9% and 14.9%, respectively.

The sales in the core business areas of module and core part manufacturing reached 41.6965 trillion won, a 25.3% increase compared to the previous year. Among these, the sales of electrification parts surpassed 9.6759 trillion won, marking the first time that annual sales of electrification exceeded 9 trillion won.

A representative of Hyundai Mobis explained, “Despite the overall increase in costs, the recovery of finished vehicle production quantities, increased production of electrification products, and improvement in product mix have shown remarkable growth in both the module and core parts and A/S businesses,” providing context for their record performance.

This year, Hyundai Mobis plans to further solidify its global business base by diversifying customer companies and parts groups, and operating specialized sales organizations at various locations to enhance localization. The company also expects to increase global orders for its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) product lines through strategic collaborations with global semiconductor companies like Qualcomm, thereby enhancing its capabilities in semiconductors and autonomous driving.

Earlier this month, Hyundai Mobis participated in CES 2023 and unveiled its new brand slogan, ‘The one for all mobility’, presenting its vision of evolving into a ‘platform provider’ offering integrated mobility solutions. The company aims to secure momentum in the future mobility sector through business restructuring, including enhancing software development and power semiconductor capabilities, while continuously strengthening its global competitiveness through profit-based management and proactive risk response.
