Hyundai Group announced on the 2nd that it received a total of four awards at the ‘Scotland Car of the Year’ event organized by the Scottish Automotive Journalists Association.

Proving its product competitiveness, Hyundai Group took home the most awards among global automotive groups, with four achievements out of a total of 12 categories.

The Kia Sportage won two awards: Family SUV of the Year and Hybrid Car of the Year, while the dedicated electric vehicle model EV6 was recognized as the Car of the Year in the electric vehicle category for cars priced over £40,000.

The Genesis GV70 was named Medium SUV of the Year (Large SUV at the time of announcement), continuing the consecutive award record from last year when the GV80 was recognized as the Luxury SUV of the Year.

The Scottish Automotive Journalists Association commented, “The family SUV category is highly competitive, and the Sportage has notable strengths such as dynamic design, spacious interior, and a wide variety of powertrain options.” They went on to say, “Additionally, the EV6 became a dominant winner with outstanding driving range, ultra-fast charging technology, and excellent acceleration performance.”

About the GV70, they noted, “It boasts best-in-class interior quality, is practical, and also has excellent driving performance,” adding, “It stands out with the existence of an electrified version of the GV70.”
