TMAP Mobility has introduced a data-driven cargo transport brokerage solution, ‘TMAP Cargo’, marking its full-scale entry into the domestic logistics market.

TMAP Mobility conducted a private beta test for the launch of the ‘TMAP Cargo’ service and opened a dedicated website on the 15th. They are intensifying development efforts for the official launch of TMAP Cargo in the first quarter of next year.

Since its spin-off in December 2020, TMAP Mobility has focused on the ‘middle mile’ segment, where digitization has lagged compared to first and last-mile transportation, seeking innovative solutions based on the TMAP platform. The middle mile refers to the transportation stage when raw materials are shipped to manufacturing plants or finished products are sent to logistics centers or distributors.

In June of last year, TMAP Mobility strengthened its foundation for entering the cargo platform market by acquiring logistics startup YLP as a subsidiary. Established in 2016, YLP recorded revenue of 47.6 billion won last year and is expected to exceed 100 billion won this year.

TMAP Cargo offers a one-stop solution through online quoting, acceptance, dispatching, and settlement services. By integrating all processes required for cargo transport into a single platform, it is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of logistics tasks for companies.

The dispatch success rate for TMAP Cargo is quite high at 90.4%. This achievement is the result of integrating over 1.1 million transport data accumulated by YLP over the past six years with TMAP Mobility’s platform expertise. By analyzing customer requests and the real-time supply and demand ratio of cargo trucks nationwide based on big data, it offers optimal pricing for effective dispatching. Long-term contract customers are provided with appropriate discount rates based on transportation segments and frequency.

Moreover, TMAP Cargo supports transportation services of all tonnages, from small to large, through external supply chain integration. They have established a stable offline vehicle network through eight regional offices across Korea, including Incheon and Busan, and partnerships with over 30 logistics companies such as Lotte Global Logistics. Prior to the official launch, a ‘pre-booking event’ is being held for shippers, offering coffee coupons during the period from the 22nd of this month to January 5th next year.

Song Ji-won, head of DFM Business at TMAP Mobility, stated, “TMAP Cargo will start as a service for shippers and evolve into a digital solution that can be used by all players in the cargo industry. We will continue to enhance the digital logistics ecosystem with innovative technologies while promoting the convenience of shippers and sustaining collaboration with the cargo industry.”
