Hyundai Motor Company announced that global ambassador Park Ji-sung participated in a special lecture series titled ‘Brand Lounge’ for employees at the main office auditorium in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.

Park Ji-sung, former captain of the South Korea national football team, is the global ambassador for Hyundai’s World Cup campaign ‘Goal of the Century’ and serves as the technical director for Jeonbuk Hyundai, thus maintaining a close partnership with the automaker. He recently attracted attention by attending the opening ceremony of the special exhibition ‘FIFA Museum’ in Qatar for the ‘2022 FIFA World Cup’.

Additionally, Park Ji-sung is involved in Hyundai’s eco-friendly social contribution campaign ‘Longest Run 2022’, which marks its seventh year, collaborating with Hyundai in various fields.

The ‘Brand Lounge’ is an employee engagement program that invites speakers related to the brand to introduce the values pursued by Hyundai from various perspectives and inspire new ideas in their work. For this event, more than 300 employees registered to attend and participated in the lecture and Q&A session through a lottery system.

This lecture was conducted in a talk-show format, lasting approximately an hour under the theme ‘Sports Campaigns with Hyundai’, hosted by Baramba (Choi Jun-woo) from the popular YouTube channel ‘Shoot for Love’. Notably, current national team player Cho Gyu-sung, who scored multiple goals in the 2022 World Cup, also joined the session.

During the session, Park Ji-sung shared behind-the-scenes stories and episodes from the 2022 World Cup, his feelings about serving as a member of ‘Team Century’ for Hyundai’s ‘Goal of the Century’ campaign, and experiences as the technical director of Jeonbuk Hyundai, marking a significant closing to the year with employees.

Park Ji-sung, Hyundai’s World Cup ambassador, expressed, “I hope that all children can live in an enjoyable and happy environment,” and added, “Through the ‘Goal of the Century’ project, I aim to raise awareness about the importance of the environment and sustainability, collaborating to find solutions and moving towards the future, which is my goal in participating in this campaign.”

He also mentioned, “My experience as the technical director of Jeonbuk Hyundai offered me an opportunity to learn how to lead a team,” sharing achievements at Jeonbuk Hyundai and meaningful experiences from the year. He continued, “Through genuine conversations with employees I met at today’s ‘Brand Lounge’, I felt the passion of Hyundai employees towards the sports campaign.”

Guest player Cho Gyu-sung contributed to the lively atmosphere of the lecture by sharing his thoughts on the 2022 World Cup and experiences as a player for Jeonbuk Hyundai, notably conveying the stature of Hyundai, an official partner of FIFA, to the employees.

Hyundai Motor Company live-streamed the lecture online for employees who were unable to attend.

A representative from Hyundai stated, “Today’s ‘Brand Lounge’ is a chance to vividly convey Hyundai’s various sports-related activities, fueled by the excitement of the 2022 World Cup,” and emphasized that employees should gain new inspiration for Hyundai’s sports campaign and branding direction through the insights of hardworking figure Park Ji-sung.

Meanwhile, the ‘Goal of the Century’ is a campaign that Hyundai has been conducting since April in anticipation of the 2022 World Cup. Through this campaign, Hyundai aims to achieve carbon neutrality at the 2022 World Cup and lead efforts towards a sustainable world with people united through football.

Team Century, led by former England national soccer player ‘Steven Gerrard’, serves as the global ambassadors for the ‘Goal of the Century’ campaign, bringing together 11 members, including Park Ji-sung, global brand ambassador ‘BTS’, Italian sculptor ‘Lorenzo Quinn’, and the robot ‘Spot’ from Boston Dynamics, each with their own areas of expertise.

Each member of Team Century has set goals to create a sustainable future for the planet and a carbon-neutral World Cup, recruiting supporters and engaging in various activities.
