Jeep -31.1%, Peugeot -10%, Citroën has ceased sales. Stellantis Korea is in a state of emergency.

As of October this year, Stellantis’ sales volume plummeted to 7,830 units, a staggering 29.7% decrease compared to 11,141 units during the same period last year. In terms of brand-specific sales, Jeep sold 5,994 units, marking a 31% decline from last year’s figure of 8,700 units. Peugeot saw a decrease of 10.1%, selling 1,724 units compared to 1,917 units last year. The premium brand DS managed to sell only 73 units.

The biggest reason for the brand’s decline is the sharp drop in Jeep’s sales. After achieving a sales figure of 10,449 units last year and joining the 10,000 club, Jeep is now struggling with numbers below 6,000 units by October. With supply issues due to semiconductor and raw material shortages, achieving 10,000 units in sales over the next two months seems virtually impossible.

The decline in Stellantis’ sales has also been influenced by the discontinuation of Citroën sales. “Sales interference with Peugeot led to the cessation of Citroën sales,” is the explanation provided. Stellantis Korea has decided to cease Citroën sales, opting to focus on Peugeot for mass-market, DS for luxury, and Jeep as its recreational brand in the domestic market. The problem remains that all brands, including Jeep, Peugeot, and DS, are facing poor sales. Currently, there seems to be no sharp alternatives to overcome the hurdle of sluggish sales performance.
