Kumho Tire will supply its revolutionary ‘Resonance Noise Reduction Tires’ to the Hyundai Grandeur.

The All-New Grandeur, which will feature Kumho tires, is the seventh generation of the Grandeur model, paying homage to the first generation. While it inherits the traditional design elements of the Grandeur, the vehicle emphasizes a futuristic mobility image with uninterrupted horizontal lamps and has a spacious interior, thanks to the repositioned cowl point (the boundary between the hood and windshield).

The All-New Grandeur will be equipped with two Kumho Tire products: the Majesty 9 Solus TA91 and the Ecsta PS71 (specifications: 245/45R 19), both of which are resonance noise reduction tires utilizing Kumho’s K-Silent (absorption technology). These two products are Kumho’s best-selling models, offering enhanced ride comfort and quietness, optimized for premium sedans by reducing noise (resonance noise) generated from vibrations in the tire air as the tire tread contacts the road surface using polyurethane foam acoustic material inside the tires.

Kumho Tire applied K-Silent technology, which optimizes the sound absorption material’s shape and material to maximize noise reduction effects. This technology is centered around the design, area, and width of the absorbing material attached to the tire. Kumho Tire developed the ‘K-Silent system’ in 2014 and has registered patents both domestically and internationally for the shape and material of the sound absorption material.

Kim In-Soo, Senior Executive of OE Sales, stated, “We are delighted to supply the All-New Grandeur with our unique ‘K-Silent’ technology for resonance noise reduction tires, partnering as a future mobility collaborator. Like Hyundai Motor, Kumho Tire is also committed to continuously developing technologies and products that satisfy driving performance and enjoyment.”
