Rolls-Royce has launched the Phantom Series II in South Korea.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom has enjoyed a reputation as the ‘best car in the world’ since its debut in 1925, featuring timeless design and an understanding of luxury. The Phantom Series II is a facelift model of the 8th generation Phantom, first revealed in 2017, characterized by a ‘light-touch’ design reflecting the feedback of customers who requested minimal changes and offering the widest range of bespoke options created with craftsmanship.

Irene Nikkein, the Regional Director for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Asia Pacific, stated, “The Phantom is an enduring symbol and benchmark of luxury, embodying the finest design and meticulous engineering coupled with craftsmanship, representing the ‘most Rolls-Royce-like Rolls-Royce’.” She added, “The new Phantom Series II has been subtly styled to meet the tastes of younger customers, asserting that the Phantom is the ultimate canvas for Goodwood artisans to provide masterpieces tailored to each client’s preference.”

The Phantom Series II achieves an exquisite enhancement of aesthetics with minimal changes. A sleek horizontal line has been added between the upper part of the front pantheon grille and the daytime running lights to create a fresh and modern atmosphere, and a refined geometric variation has been applied to the grille to make the iconic ‘RR’ badge and the Spirit of Ecstasy stand out even more. Additionally, headlamps equipped with complex laser-cut bezels radiate an overwhelming presence even in the darkest nights.

The characteristic short overhang, long wheelbase, sturdy C-pillars, and the elegant line extending from the Spirit of Ecstasy to the rear are all maintained. Moreover, a ‘split-belt’ line that emphasizes the vehicle’s proportions runs from the front fender to the rear lamps, while the boldly cut ‘waft line’ creates dramatic shadows, visually representing Rolls-Royce’s unique ‘magic carpet ride’ experience.

The wheel set completing the profile of the vehicle is offered in two forms. Customers can order stainless steel wheels crafted with 3D milling technology in full or partial gloss, or choose disc wheels reminiscent of the 1920s Rolls-Royce romance. The disc wheels made from polished stainless steel are finished with black lacquer, giving the impression of flying above the ground.

The luxurious interior of the Phantom is preserved, but a slightly thicker steering wheel has been fitted to cater to the increasing number of customers who prefer to drive themselves. The new steering wheel enhances the connection between the vehicle and driver, providing more immediate feedback.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II is equipped with a 6.75L twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers a quiet and smooth acceleration. It produces a maximum torque of 91.8 kg·m (European standard: 900 NM) at 1700 RPM, with an output of 563 horsepower.

At the domestic launch event, Rolls-Royce showcased the bespoke model, ‘Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Maverick’.

South Korea is the top-selling country for the Phantom in the Asia-Pacific region, with sales increasing by 67% year-on-year in 2021, indicating a sustained growth trend. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has noted the rapid growth of the domestic luxury industry and the increasing demand for the Phantom among younger domestic customers, prompting them to introduce the Maverick with bolder colors and styles.

The Monteverde exterior color, inspired by the unspoiled greens and blues of nature, combined with handcrafted painted peony pink coach lines, creates a stunning harmony, reminiscent of viewing a ‘blooming masterpiece’.

The Phantom Gallery features a ‘Ruthenium Bloom’. The geometric design, inspired by the delicate outlines of flowers, is laser-cut and etched into a layer coated in ruthenium. Phantom owners can equip the gallery space with a work created in collaboration with their desired artist, and this innovative bespoke service allows customers to own a ‘moving work of art’ that reflects their refined taste.

The starting price for the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II is 712 million won for the standard wheelbase version and 826 million won (including VAT) for the extended wheelbase version.
