Jaguar Land Rover Korea has announced that the All-New Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport have achieved the highest rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP safety assessment. These two iconic luxury SUVs from Land Rover are developed based on over 50 years of knowledge in outstanding all-terrain performance, refinement, and safety.

The All-New Range Rover and All-New Range Rover Sport are the latest Range Rover models to have received the top rating under Euro NCAP’s new integrated evaluation method, which has become stricter since 2009. The Range Rover Evoque was the first in the Range Rover lineup to earn five stars in the new Euro NCAP tests back in 2011.

The next-generation MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture)-Flex platform used in the two models provides a robust foundation that allows a series of cutting-edge driver assistance technologies to work in harmony with high responsiveness and refined driving performance. The All-New Range Rover, available in 4, 5, and 7-seat configurations, boasts a 50% improvement in torsional rigidity compared to the previous model, while the All-New Range Rover Sport is 35% stronger.

The award-winning All-New Range Rover scored an impressive 87% in child occupant protection and 72% in pedestrian protection, while the Range Rover Sport received a score of 85% for adult occupant protection. In the safety assistance systems category, both models achieved a score of 82%.

Both the All-New Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are equipped with a variety of the latest driver assistance systems designed to support safe driving and passenger protection.

They include emergency braking assistance, lane keep assist, emergency lane keeping assist, ClearSight ground view, driver monitoring system, rear collision prevention monitoring with passenger protection assist, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, and park assist, among others, ensuring safety.

Both the All-New Range Rover and Range Rover Sport feature the innovative Cabin Air Purification Pro system that enhances indoor air quality. The PM2.5 filter and Nanoe™ X technology used in this system significantly reduce odors, bacteria, and allergens, while monitoring indoor carbon dioxide levels and automatically supplying fresh outdoor air when necessary, thus improving comfort and maintaining driver focus. This system proactively activates to help keep the driver’s attention at optimal levels, combating the fatigue that can be induced by high concentrations of carbon dioxide.

Thomas Müller, Senior Director of Product Engineering at Jaguar Land Rover, stated, “The outstanding scores we’ve achieved in Euro NCAP reflect the extensive efforts and expertise Land Rover has developed over more than 50 years in designing and manufacturing vehicles that combine safety, driving performance, and luxury. The robust mixed-metal MLA-Flex body architecture provides a solid foundation for advanced safety systems like emergency braking assistance to work in harmony of the passenger and road users alike. These two Range Rover models are a testament to technological excellence.”

Meanwhile, Jaguar Land Rover Korea plans to introduce plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models with extended driving ranges for both vehicles in the domestic market in 2023, following their reimagine strategy centered on sustainability.
