“The Urban Sphere is a blueprint showcasing Audi’s future mobility,” said Park Young-jun, Executive Director of Audi Korea.

Audi Korea held an opening event for the ‘House of Progress’ on the 7th at Garosu-gil in Gangnam, Seoul. The House of Progress is a brand exhibition hall that Audi presents in major cities around the world. This is the first time an Audi brand exhibition hall has been launched in Korea.

The brand exhibition hall featured Audi’s concept car showcasing future mobility, the ‘Urban Sphere.’ The Urban Sphere is the third model in the series, following the two-seater Sky Sphere and the four-seater Grand Sphere. Joining the event was Park Seul-ah, a Korean designer from Audi’s headquarters who designed the Urban Sphere.

Ms. Park referred to the Urban Sphere as a “meaningful model.” Typically, vehicle designs are kept under maximum security to prevent leaks, but the Urban Sphere was designed reflecting feedback from potential future Audi customers. The exterior design was executed at Audi’s headquarters in Germany, while the interior was developed by Audi’s Chinese branch.

The car’s first impression is grand. The single frame at the front is a crucial element determining the car’s initial impression, harmonizing digital and metal aesthetics. While the single frame previously served as the intake for internal combustion engine models, it now plays a role in digital communication in the electric vehicle era.

The windshield leans towards the front, enhancing the dynamism of the side profile. Unnecessary body lines have been eliminated to create a smooth and voluminous body. The rear also features full LED digital lights, showcasing Audi’s signature volume.

The true essence of the Urban Sphere is highlighted within the interior. Ms. Park mentioned that the Urban Sphere emphasizes “the feel of first-class seating on an airplane.” The second row offers ample space, and the seats rotate outward for convenient entry and exit. The use of veneer design adds warmth and a comfortable atmosphere to the interior.

Finally, Ms. Park stressed, “With autonomous driving, you can enjoy video calls and multimedia content on a large screen, making it a personal relaxation space in the city.” The House of Progress will be open across from the Apple Store on Garosu-gil in Gangnam until the 16th.
