Hyundai Motor Group is establishing a platform for sharing the experiences and know-how of developers implementing Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

The HMG Developer Conference, a festival for mobility industry developers, will take place from November 16 (Wednesday) to 17 (Thursday), and participant registration will begin on the 18th of this month (Tuesday).

This year’s conference marks its 2nd iteration and will be conducted in a hybrid format, featuring both on-site and online presentations.

Participating in this conference will be developers from Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai AutoEver, 42dot, and startups (Coconut Silo, Embiom) collaborating with Hyundai Motor Group, who will present various development experiences and insights.

On the first day, November 16, executives and developers leading research and development at Hyundai Motor Studio Goyang will conduct on-site presentations focused on core technologies related to Hyundai Motor Group’s SDV transition.

Starting with an opening by CEO Song Chang-hyun, responsible for the Global Software Center and TaaS division, this presentation will include participants like Executive Director Jang Woong-jun from the Autonomous Driving Division, Senior Vice President Kim Chi-gyeong from the Vehicle Control Strategy Team, Senior Vice President Ahn Hyeong-ki from the Electronics Development Division, and Senior Vice President Kim Sung-woon from Hyundai AutoEver, along with hands-on developers from various fields. After all presentations, a networking time will be provided for on-site participants and presenters to engage in free discussions.

On the second day, November 17 (Thursday), developers responsible for practical work in the field will conduct a Q&A session with participants using the online video conferencing platform Zoom.

To facilitate this, presentation videos composed of various topics, such as autonomous driving, infotainment, data science, artificial intelligence, car cloud, and electronics/body, will be released in advance on the 10th of next month, and pre-registered questions will be accepted through the official homepage.

In the final segment, the HR representatives from various fields will hold a recruitment briefing via video conference to provide hiring information to participants, as well as scheduling open consultation times.

The 2nd HMG Developer Conference is open to anyone who registers via the homepage without any restrictions. However, those wishing to participate in on-site presentations will need to apply separately. For those unable to attend in person, live streaming will be available.

A representative from Hyundai Motor Group stated, “As the competition for future mobility development intensifies, the roles of developers are becoming increasingly important,” and added, “We will continue to create opportunities for exchanging ideas and developing together based on the expertise of our developers.”

Meanwhile, in response to the accelerating competition in software technology within the mobility industry to seize leadership in the future automotive era, Hyundai Motor Group recently held a media event titled ‘Unlock the Software Age’ on the 12th to strengthen and internalize its software capabilities.
