Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the design of the all-new Grandeur, a high-end sedan representing South Korea.

The flagship sedan from Hyundai, the all-new Grandeur, is the 7th generation model, marking its debut six years after the 6th generation Grandeur was launched in November 2016.

Since its market introduction in 1986 as a luxury sedan, the Grandeur has continuously defined the standards for high-end cars and advanced alongside South Korea’s growth, leading the domestic sedan market with continual innovations suitable for the times.

Hyundai is confident that the all-new Grandeur will showcase a presence that overwhelms the market, having been reborn as a model that encapsulates the symbolic elements of the existing Grandeur while evolving to a whole new level.

The exterior design of the all-new Grandeur is completed with a unique design sensibility that expresses a great transition in future mobility, based on heritage and high-tech details.

One standout element at the front is the “continuously connected horizontal lamps,” inspired by the boundary line between night and morning, harmoniously integrated with an impactful grill.

The uninterrupted horizontal lamp design is a new lighting design characteristic of Hyundai, crafted from a perfect blend of technology and art, enhancing the futuristic image of the Grandeur.

The sleek horizontal line stretching from the headlights to the rear lamps reinforces the wide and clean volume of the sedan, along with frameless doors and auto flush door handles to establish the Grandeur’s status as a large sedan.

The extended length and wheelbase with a rearward-moving cowl point create a spacious rear seat space, harmonizing well with the boldly set-back C-pillar to achieve excellent proportions and a sporty profile, while the opera glass in the C-pillar evokes nostalgia for the first generation Grandeur.

With the wheel size increased to 20 inches compared to the previous generation, the Caligraphy wheels are designed to be three-dimensional and dynamic, creating a contrast with the smooth volume of the vehicle.

The rear view, like the front view, features a horizontally connected rear lamp that further enhances the Grandeur’s presence alongside a unified futuristic design.

Hyundai aimed to create the interior of the all-new Grandeur as a comfortable refuge amidst busy daily lives, presenting a soft and clean atmosphere.

The interior space of the all-new Grandeur wraps around passengers with a wraparound structure, inheriting the legacy of past Granadurs with a modern touch. This is a more three-dimensional design inspired by the interior of the 1980s Grandeur.

Ambient mood lighting that softly spreads across the door trim and dashboard, along with the delicate and Korean-inspired details of the door trim pattern, provide passengers with a more comfortable and relaxing experience.

The steering wheel is also reborn in a form that integrates the controls, inspired by the single-spoke design of the first generation Grandeur, capturing passengers’ attention while optimizing the layout for the driver.

Thanks to the move of the gear knob to the steering wheel, the neatly cleared console space offers a clean interior image while providing convenient storage that meets various lifestyle needs.

The leather materials that beautifully complete the styling from the crash pad to the door flow together with real wood and aluminum interior materials, highlighting the Grandeur’s elegance, while the napa quilting inspired by traditional Korean patterns is noted as a differentiating point that enhances the premium sedan’s luxurious feel.

Hyundai has equipped the Grandeur with an indoor fingerprint recognition system for easy access to start and payment services. In the rear, reclining and electronic door curtains provide an emotional sense of leisure and a comfortable riding experience.

The all-new Grandeur is a model that has received intense interest from customers even before its launch, thus Hyundai is proactively hosting the Grandeur Preview event to meet the expectations of pre-order customers by providing a chance to experience the actual vehicle.

The “Grandeur Exclusive Preview” event is scheduled to take place nationwide over four weeks, including ▲Busan (Auto Square, October 21-23) ▲Gwangju (Sangmu Branch, October 28-30) ▲Daegu (Jincheon Branch, November 4-6) ▲Daejeon (Doan Gasuwon Branch, November 4-6) ▲Seoul (Sejong Center, November 12-14), with registrations starting from 8:30 AM on October 19 on the all-new Grandeur webpage (http://theallnewgrandeur.kr).

Lee Sang-yeop, Vice President of Hyundai Design Center, stated, “The 7th generation Grandeur expresses our will to inherit tradition and move toward the future,” and added, “Through emotional design and detailed customer experience, we will create a new standard in the premium sedan market.”

The all-new Grandeur will officially launch next month, available in four models: ▲2.5-liter GDI gasoline engine ▲3.5-liter GDI gasoline engine ▲1.6-liter gasoline turbo hybrid ▲3.5-liter LPi engine.

Hyundai plans to prioritize the delivery of the all-new Grandeur to customers who are currently waiting on existing Grandeur models and wish to purchase the new model.
