Polestar will unveil its first SUV, the Polestar 3, at a public event in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 13th (local time on October 12th).

The Polestar 3 is a design-led performance electric SUV, showcasing distinctive design and excellent driving dynamics. Built on new electric technology developed and shared by Volvo Cars, it incorporates centralized core computing from NVIDIA and advanced safety systems provided by industry leaders including Volvo Cars, Gentex, Luminar, and Smart Eye.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath stated, “We continually asked ourselves, ‘What should an SUV look like in today’s world?’ The Polestar 3 redefines the SUV of the electrification era, focusing on several fundamental aspects of form such as vehicle proportions, posture, and aerodynamics during its design process.”

Performance is a core value for Polestar, aiming for capabilities beyond just straight-line speed. Every Polestar 3 at launch will feature a rear-based dual-motor powertrain and a dual-clutch system with electric torque vectoring. Also, adaptive dual-chamber air suspension and active dampers come standard, allowing the dampers to adjust every 0.002 seconds based on the road surface. This enables the Polestar 3 to seamlessly switch between comfort and robust handling dynamics.

Thomas Ingenlath added, “What makes the Polestar 3 special is its ability to transform from a comfortable cruiser to an agile performance vehicle in the blink of an eye. It achieves ultimate stability with a low center of gravity and wide track, providing the driver with enjoyable driving dynamics.”

The optional Performance Pack boasts impressive power of up to 380kW and 93.4kg.m (910Nm), supporting Polestar’s engineering chassis tuning for active dampers and air suspension. Iconic Swedish Gold design points of Polestar, including valve caps, seat belts, and laser-etched interior light strips, have also been incorporated throughout.

Meanwhile, the unveiling event for the Polestar 3 in Copenhagen will take place at 7 PM local time on October 12th (2 AM KST on October 13th), with Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath and Chief Designer Maximilian Missoni in attendance. The event will be livestreamed on Polestar’s official YouTube channel.
