Tmap Auto has passed the highest level of software (SW) quality evaluation required by European automotive companies.

Tmap Mobility announced on the 18th that it has obtained the international standard certification of ‘A-SPICE,’ a global automotive SW quality and capability assessment model.

A-SPICE is an international certification model created to assess the capabilities in all areas of software (SW) such as design, verification, and management for component suppliers by global automobile manufacturers. It aims to evaluate development processes and quality capabilities.

Through A-SPICE certification, Tmap Mobility has proven that TMAP AUTO services are developed and operated in a more systematic manner. Since its establishment, the company has obtained several certifications since 2021, including ▲ International standard for automotive cybersecurity development guidance (ISO/SAE 21434) ▲ International standard for information security in the automotive supply chain (TISAX) ▲ International standard for quality management systems (ISO 9001) ▲ International standard for environmental management systems (ISO 14001) ▲ Occupational health and safety management system international standards (ISO 45001), thus being recognized as a company with the highest level of SW quality and cybersecurity capabilities in Korea.

In some countries, hackers have been increasingly conducting cybersecurity attacks, such as forcibly opening the doors or trunk of moving vehicles or accessing the vehicle infotainment system through Bluetooth chipsets. This has made it possible for unintended navigation or payment theft by the driver. Recently, domestic automotive companies have also started requiring A-SPICE certification to enhance SW quality and cybersecurity.

Tmap Mobility is expanding its collaboration with global automakers, enhancing data processing capabilities and strengthening the development of personalized and electric vehicle-specific features alongside the release of TMAP Infotainment 2.0. A-SPICE certification enhances competitiveness to create software-centric automobiles (SDVs, Software Defined Vehicles) based on safety and trust by enhancing the processes in the automotive SW development process.

Choi Sang-ho, head of Mobility QE at Tmap Mobility, said, “Currently, we are the only domestic navigation company equipped with both A-SPICE and cybersecurity certifications, which are necessary for the SDV era.” He added, “We will strive to expand our global business, leveraging the highest level of automotive SW quality and cybersecurity competitiveness.”
