Renault Korea Motor Co. signed a business agreement with Tmap Mobility on the 29th at the Renault Korea Seoul office in Gangnam, promising to enhance the future infotainment experience for customers.

Through this agreement, Renault Korea and Tmap Mobility will regularly share the roadmap for infotainment services, actively accommodating the evolution and changes in services demanded by the automotive market.

To this end, Renault Korea plans to equip the ‘TMAP Infotainment’ in the upcoming Aurora project, a hybrid mid-size SUV set to launch next year, and both companies will actively cooperate in the development and application of third-party apps and new content.

The TMAP Infotainment system is Tmap Mobility’s integrated IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) system for future vehicles, which includes TMAP navigation for vehicles, personalized recommendation services, traffic signal connection services, voice recognition through NUGU, Tmap Store, in-vehicle easy payment, specialized services for electric vehicles, and more.

Stephan Devleeschouwer, CEO of Renault Korea, stated, “This business agreement will strengthen the partnership between Renault Korea and Tmap Mobility for the future roadmap of infotainment and connectivity,” and expressed optimism about the synergy effect of the companies following this agreement, saying, “We can lead the connectivity technology in the domestic automotive market together.”

Lee Jong-ho, CEO of Tmap Mobility, also expressed his pleasure, stating, “I am happy that we can develop a closer relationship with Renault Korea, which we have maintained over the past ten years,” and added, “By combining the strengths of Renault vehicles with Tmap Mobility’s infotainment features, we will create synergy and innovate the future mobility market.”

Meanwhile, Renault Korea has been continuously collaborating with SK Telecom, Tmap Mobility’s parent company, starting in 2003 when it equipped the SM series vehicles with a telematics system developed in partnership. Since 2012, all Renault Korea vehicles have been equipped with Tmap navigation from SK Telecom, providing fast route services and various smartphone connectivity features. In 2015, they also unveiled the world’s first in-car tablet navigation system ‘T2C (Tablet to Car)’.

Renault Korea currently offers real-time TMAP navigation information through a horizontal large display with an area of 272㎠ via the Easy Connect system in the XM3 and SM6, as well as the Easy Life system in the QM6. Additionally, depending on the vehicle, they provide services such as AI-based voice recognition NUGU service, online entertainment services like YouTube, in-car payment for ordering and receiving products from restaurants, convenience stores, gas stations, and parking lots, and a safety support call service that connects to a dedicated call center 24/7 in emergencies.
