KG Mobility has announced that it will supply the Rexton Sport to the Peruvian Army in collaboration with the global trading company STX.

As part of this initiative, representatives from the Peruvian Army and STX visited the Pyeongtaek plant on the 4th for a meeting, where they also test drove the Rexton Sport after a production line tour.

The meeting, held in the main conference room of the Pyeongtaek plant, was attended by KGM CEO Park Jang-ho, officials from the Peruvian Army, and members of the STX delegation.

The Rexton Sport has been recognized in the global market for its product strength and marketability. It has been selected as the best pickup by prestigious automotive publications such as What Car and Carbuyer in the UK.

It has also been supplied as an official vehicle to organizations like the UK’s Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency and the Bulgarian National Disaster Safety Agency, and over 2,000 units of the Rexton were supplied to Peru as police vehicles back in 2013.

Particularly, the Rexton Sport has received commendations not only for its typical driving performance and safety in the domestic market but also for its capability to overcome challenging off-road conditions. It was selected as a command vehicle for the military in 2019 and has been actively deployed in various units, and it continues to receive excellent evaluations as it was supplied as a command vehicle again in 2022.

KGM plans to actively respond to various needs of the Peruvian Army by developing not only standard vehicles but also special-purpose vehicles, starting with the supply of Rexton Sports. The initial supply will include around 400 units this year, with plans to expand to over 2,000 units by 2025.

A KGM official stated, “KGM models, including the Rexton Sport, are gaining recognition for their product strength and competitiveness in the global market and are being supplied as official vehicles in major export countries like Peru.” They added, “We aim to increase global sales volumes through expanded supplies in active cooperation with the Peruvian Army, along with exploring emerging markets, launching new products, and employing differentiated marketing strategies.”
