Mercedes-Benz Donations: Supporting Education for Disadvantaged Youth

The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 6th that it has distributed 250 million won from the ‘Mercedes-Benz All Together’ fund to support education for children and adolescents from socially vulnerable backgrounds across 35 social welfare institutions nationwide.

The fund delivery ceremony was held at the Mercedes-Benz Gangnam Daero showroom (The Class Hyosung), attended by Jin-dal Im, Vice Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, Hyoseung Kim, Executive Director of the Children’s Future Foundation, Yeong-wook Yoo, Director of Cheongun Child Care Center, Soo-hyun Ha, Director of Haesung Child Care Center, and other representatives from the beneficiary institutions.

The beneficiary institutions receiving the educational funds include 35 social welfare institutions across nine cities and provinces, including Seoul’s ‘Cheongun Child Care Center’ and Incheon’s ‘Haesung Child Care Center’. These institutions were selected through direct applications from local welfare organizations, with recommendations from employees of Mercedes-Benz dealers and partners.

Soo-hyun Ha, Director of ‘Haesung Child Care Center’, expressed, “As a facility where infants are living, it is very important to provide enjoyable experiences that can serve as a foundation for children’s growth. With this support, we are very happy to implement various play and physical education programs that will help the healthy growth and development of the preschool children.”

Jin-dal Im, Vice Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, stated, “Since the establishment of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee in 2014, we have worked to expand educational opportunities for vulnerable and disabled children and adolescents. We will continue to strive for the growth and development of local communities through employee participation volunteer activities, ‘Mercedes-Benz All Together.'”

‘Mercedes-Benz All Together’ is an employee-engagement social contribution activity aimed at creating a culture of collaboration with local communities, and since 2014, it has supported over 4.5 billion won to a total of 850 social welfare institutions.

Since 2014, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee has implemented over 220 projects through ‘Mercedes-Benz All Together’, carrying out various forms of volunteer activities, including the renovation of facilities for disabled welfare, mural painting in school zones, kimjang sharing, storytelling sessions, improving living environments, and providing prevention kits for COVID-19.
