Ferrari Opens Fiorano Track for Public Half Marathon: A Historic First

‘Ferrari opens the Fiorano track to the public to hold a half marathon.’

For the first time in its history, Ferrari is opening the Fiorano track and the central road of the Maranello factory to the public.

Ferrari announced plans to open the Maranello factory’s central road and Fiorano track for the Enzo Ferrari Memorial Half Marathon, scheduled for March 30, 2025. This significant event allows access to Ferrari’s iconic venues, which are typically hard for the public to enter, for a sports event.

At a press conference held at the Fiorano track on the 10th, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna and the general manager of Master Group Sports, the organizer of this inaugural marathon, Antonio Santa Maria, attended. Special guests included Italian duathlon, triathlon and aquathlon champion Rita Kukuru, the 2024 Paris Marathon winner, and Yemaneberhan Crippa, the 2024 European Rome Half Marathon gold medalist. Representatives from local authorities supporting the event, including from Emilia-Romagna, Modena, Maranello, Fiorano, and Formigine, also celebrated the marathon announcement.

The theme of this marathon event for all Ferrari fans and enthusiasts is ‘Run the Race Track’, symbolizing an ideal combination of the worlds of running and racing. The race will start at the Ferrari museum in Maranello, passing through the factory road and Fiorano circuit, continuing to Formigine, and finishing at Piazza Roma in Modena. The competition will feature a traditional 21.0975 km marathon for top runners, along with 5 km and 10 km courses designed for beginner runners, ensuring participation for everyone.

Ferrari’s hosting of this half marathon reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community. All funds received from registration fees and partnerships will be used to establish a multi-purpose sports facility. This facility will be built in Maranello’s Parco dello Sport complex, funded by Ferrari. This area is also where the city forest project, ‘Ferrari Woods’, supported by Ferrari in 2022, was developed.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna expressed, “I am pleased that we can hold a special sports event where everyone can feel the passion together for the first time in Ferrari’s history at iconic locations like the Fiorano track and the Maranello factory road.” He added, “The Enzo Ferrari Memorial Half Marathon commemorates Ferrari’s DNA of ‘performance, innovation, and shared passion’, showcasing the legacy our founder left behind while demonstrating the company’s commitment to development.”
