Mercedes-Benz Korea Steps Up: Special Support of 4.5 Billion Won for Cheongna Apartment Fire Victims

Mercedes-Benz Korea is taking action to provide a special support package of 4.5 billion won for residents affected by the electric vehicle fire in Cheongna Apartment.

Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Yong-woo from Incheon’s Seo-gu announced on his Facebook page on August 9th that he met with residents affected by the EQE fire and the Chief Financial Officer of Mercedes-Benz Korea, Honoré Tsukuno. The meeting was held at the site of the incident.

During this meeting, a representative from Mercedes-Benz Korea stated, “Considering the circumstances of the residents who cannot return to their daily lives, we decided to provide humanitarian support.” The official added that “4.5 billion won will be urgently allocated for this support and it is separate from fire compensation.”

During the meeting, Lee expressed, “I welcome the decision of Mercedes-Benz Korea to take moral responsibility and provide support,” and emphasized, “I urge that efforts be made to help the affected residents recover their daily lives and receive full compensation for their losses.”
