‘Ioniq 5 undergoing inspection’

Hyundai Motor Company (including Genesis) and Kia announced on Tuesday, the 13th, that they will implement a ‘Electric Vehicle Safety Check Service’.

The ‘Electric Vehicle Safety Check Service’ is a program that offers free inspections of vehicles for electric vehicle owners visiting service centers across the country.

In light of growing customer concerns over recent electric vehicle fires, Hyundai and Kia have introduced this service to alleviate anxiety related to electric vehicles and assist in ensuring customer safety while driving.

The service covers all types of electric vehicles from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis, and checks a total of 9 safety-related items, including ▲ insulation resistance ▲ voltage deviation ▲ cooling system ▲ damage to connection cables and connectors ▲ shocks/damage to the underbody ▲ occurrence of fault codes, among others.

Customers wishing to use the service can select a schedule and location through the respective customer service centers and make a reservation before visiting the service location.

Hyundai (including Genesis) customers can use the service at 22 directly operated high-tech centers and 1,234 Blue Hands locations nationwide, while Kia customers can access inspections at 18 directly operated service centers and 757 AutoQ locations.

A representative from Hyundai and Kia stated, “Through this inspection, we aim to alleviate concerns about electric vehicles and support our customers in driving safely.”
