Who will sell BYD? The competition for selecting BYD dealers is heating up. BYD Korea has officially stated, “Nothing has been decided at this time” regarding dealer selection. However, industry insiders believe that key dealers have already been earmarked. If they are to launch in Korea in the second half of the year, it is crucial to secure dealers and showrooms at this juncture.
In this context, reports are circulating that two of the largest dealers in the imported car sector have been selected as BYD dealers, with these dealers reportedly located in the Seocho, Suwon, and Gangnam areas.
In an interview with our publication on the 12th, BYD Korea confirmed that nothing has been finalized regarding recent dealer partnerships. The representative from the dealer company stated, “It is true that discussions are ongoing, but nothing has been confirmed yet,” while another dealer simply replied, “I don’t know.”
However, as it is necessary to start specific preparations to ensure a smooth sales launch in the second half of the year—like securing showrooms and assembling sales personnel—this indicates that BYD Korea’s announcement regarding dealer selection is imminent. The industry is attentively watching to see which dealer will represent BYD.
