JLR Korea has announced the launch of the 2024 New Discovery, a modern luxury seven-seat family SUV that boasts enhanced performance, next-gen features, and a sleek design.

The 2024 New Discovery is the most versatile SUV, achieving an ideal balance between driving performance and comfort. It reconfigures the model lineup with four trim levels: P360 Dynamic HSE, P300 S, D300 Dynamic HSE, and D250 S, maximizing the value of each trim. The trim restructuring has also enhanced customer convenience by adjusting some specifications across trims.

The 2024 New Discovery maintains its legacy and heritage while evolving with a sophisticated design that emphasizes luxury and practicality across both exterior and interior. Retaining the Discovery’s unique DNA, including the clamshell hood, stepped roofline, and C-pillar design, the vehicle has been meticulously refined to fulfill both ruggedness and elegance.

Equipped with the Discovery’s trademark stadium seating, the 2024 New Discovery ensures excellent forward visibility for all seven passengers, highlighting its focus on versatility as a modern luxury full-size family SUV. The second-row seats can slide up to 160mm forward and backward, in addition to featuring an electric reclining function. The third-row seats can be operated either manually or electrically.

The New Discovery features a generous cargo capacity of up to 2,391 liters, making it easy to load long and large luggage with the 60:40 power-folding rear seats that can fold completely flat in both the second and third rows. The tailgate opens wide and high for easy access to bulkier items. Additionally, smart storage solutions have been integrated, providing 41.8 liters of small storage space in the center fascia, glovebox, and center console box for items like smartphones and wallets, maximizing convenience.

As a model boasting top-tier versatility, the New Discovery also excels in towing capacity. All trims can achieve a maximum towing capacity of 3,500kg.

To enhance usability for drivers, intuitive functionality has been prioritized. At the center console, an 11.4-inch touchscreen equipped with the next-generation PIVI Pro infotainment system allows for fast and intuitive operation. The center console also features an easy-to-use illuminated interface that creates a sophisticated and futuristic feel. An intuitive toggle gear selector harmonizes beautifully with the simple and refined interior.

Notably, the newly introduced P360 Dynamic HSE trim comes standard with comfort features such as indoor air purification plus, a four-zone climate control system, adaptive driving beams, UV-blocking windshield, center console refrigerator, and Meridian sound system for a more comfortable driving experience.

The Ingenium 3.0-liter I6 gasoline and diesel engines, designed with lightweight aluminum, incorporate 48V mild hybrid (MHEV) technology that recovers energy generated during braking to assist engine operation. With next-gen engine technologies such as twin turbocharging and low-friction design exclusive to Land Rover, exceptional driving performance and efficiency are guaranteed.

The New Discovery P360 Dynamic HSE equipped with the Ingenium 3.0-liter I6 gasoline engine boasts a powerful output of 360 horsepower and maximum torque of 51 kg·m, achieving an impressive acceleration time of 6.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The New Discovery D300 Dynamic HSE features the Ingenium 3.0-liter I6 diesel engine, delivering a remarkable 300 horsepower and maximum torque of 66.3 kg·m, reaching 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds from a standstill.

Additionally, the Ingenium 2.0-liter I4 gasoline engine equipped in the P300 S model provides 300 horsepower. It showcases an impressive acceleration performance of 7.3 seconds due to its wide engine revolutions range of 1,500 to 4,500 rpm, delivering maximum torque of 40.8 kg·m.

The 2024 New Discovery is equipped with all-terrain driving technologies to support confident driving anytime, anywhere. It comes standard with electronic air suspension and adaptive dynamics, offering excellent body control and ride comfort.

The electronic air suspension reduces road impacts for a more comfortable ride, while offering a firmer setup during cornering for exceptional responsiveness. When loading luggage or entering the vehicle, the height can be lowered by up to 60mm. On the other hand, when raising the body by 75mm, the ground clearance becomes 283mm, allowing for smooth driving even on rough terrain. At speeds exceeding 105 km/h, the ground clearance automatically lowers by 13mm to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency.

Adaptive dynamics monitor vehicle movements up to 500 times per second, responding instantly to the driver or road situation. This enhances body control, ensuring stable and smooth driving.

In addition, features such as the electronic terrain response system, hill descent control system, and driving & traction control system provide optimal performance for varying road conditions. The clear-sight ground view helps in maintaining awareness of the road ahead as if looking through the hood, enhancing confidence on rough terrains. The water crossing depth detector supports safe passage with maximum depths of up to 900mm, combined with a 3D surround camera for enhanced driving safety and convenience.

The PIVI Pro infotainment system in the New Discovery simplifies key functions to help drivers focus more on driving. With just two touches, approximately 80% of all functions can be accessed. It comes with T-map navigation as standard. Additionally, the SOTA (Software Over The Air) feature enables vehicle updates to the latest software version without needing to visit a service center.

The 2024 New Discovery will be available in four trim levels, with prices including a 5-year service plan package as follows: P300 S at 94.2 million won, D250 S at 99.5 million won, D300 Dynamic HSE at 119.9 million won, and P360 Dynamic HSE at 127.6 million won.
