LG Uplus has announced that it will begin sequential activations for customers who pre-ordered Samsung’s flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6, starting from the 19th.

Analysis of the pre-order data that started on the 12th showed that the Galaxy Z Flip6 model has garnered more popularity. Specifically, the subscriber ratio between the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Galaxy Z Fold6 is approximately 6:4.

In terms of color preferences for each model, both the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 favored the ‘Silver Shadow’ color. More specifically, for the Galaxy Z Flip6, the preferences were as follows: ▲Silver Shadow (about 38%) ▲Yellow (about 22%) ▲Blue (about 21%) ▲Mint (about 19%). For the Galaxy Z Fold6, the results showed: ▲Silver Shadow (about 45%) ▲Navy (about 30%) ▲Pink (about 25%). In terms of storage, the ratio for the selection of 256GB models versus 512GB and 1TB models was around 7:3, indicating a higher preference for the 256GB model.

The limited edition ‘Webtoon Volcano Return Edition’, a collaboration between LG Uplus and Naver Webtoon, has proven to be popular among customers in their 20s and 30s. Of the customers who purchased the ‘Webtoon Volcano Return Edition’ during the pre-order period, about 81% were in their 20s and 30s. This special edition includes the Galaxy Z Flip6 256GB model, along with ▲Samsung’s genuine flip suit case ▲three types of flip suit cards ▲luggage charm ▲NFC keyring with a limited edition theme ▲frame mood lamp ▲wireless charger ▲limited edition packaging, among other items.

During the pre-order period, the ‘Uplus LIVE’ broadcast amassed a cumulative view count of approximately 5 million. Notably, the broadcast featuring IT YouTuber Eight garnered the highest viewership among live shows conducted simultaneously during the pre-order, reaching about 900,000 views.

In conjunction with the release of the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6, LG Uplus is also running a program allowing customers to replace the batteries of unused smartphones for free, so they can pass them down to their children like new devices. Customers who purchase and activate a Galaxy Z Flip6 or Z Fold6 from LG Uplus can receive a battery replacement coupon for their previous phone, provided it is activated under the name of a child under 14 years old.

With the anticipated increase in second-hand phone sales following the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6, LG Uplus is hosting events at its ‘Neighborhood Second-Hand Phone Diagnosis Centers’, which currently operate in 61 LG Uplus stores nationwide as of July. These centers offer a specialized deletion solution patented in advanced security nations to safely and completely erase data stored on second-hand phones. The service is available free of charge to customers, regardless of their mobile carrier. Customers who receive data deletion services at the centers and respond to a simple survey by the 10th of next month will be eligible for a draw to win a Baedal Minjok gift certificate (10,000 won, for 100 recipients).

As for the maximum public support for the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 at launch, it is set at 151,000 won (for a monthly plan of 85,000 won, based on the 5G Premier Essential) and 230,000 won (for a monthly plan of 130,000 won, based on the 5G Signature), respectively.
