Cadillac Selects Olympic Legend Park Tae-hwan as Lyric Ambassador

‘Former national swimming representative Park Tae-hwan selected as the Cadillac Lyric ambassador’

Cadillac has chosen Park Tae-hwan, the former national swimming representative and a legend in South Korean swimming, as the ambassador for its first pure electric SUV, the Lyric.

The Lyric, released in May, features unique design elements inspired by the ‘Rhythm of Nature’ and is built on GM’s next-generation electric vehicle platform, ‘ULTIUM.’ This model has quickly garnered attention in the luxury EV market due to its advanced driving features and comfort.

Park Tae-hwan has played a pioneering role in elevating South Korea’s swimming to new heights, winning 39 medals at international competitions including the Olympics. He has been instrumental in nurturing the next generation of swimmers, known as ‘Park Tae-hwan kids,’ who are currently achieving remarkable results in international events.

Cadillac selected Park Tae-hwan as the ambassador for the Lyric because he embodies the spirit of the brand’s first electric vehicle, helping to shape the image of the next-generation electric car lineup.

Lee Eun-jung, Marketing Director of Cadillac Korea, stated, “Just as Park Tae-hwan led South Korean swimming on the global stage, the Lyric represents a monumental model that signifies the direction Cadillac will take in the electric vehicle era.” She added, “We ask for your continued interest in the future endeavors of Cadillac Lyric and Park Tae-hwan together.”

Park Tae-hwan expressed, “When I saw the Lyric in person, I couldn’t take my eyes off its beautiful design. Experiencing the luxurious ride and advanced driving functions, which are usually found only in luxury sedans, made me appreciate its true value as a ‘luxury electric vehicle.’ As the ambassador for the Lyric, I will work hard to ensure that more people can experience Cadillac’s unique ‘American luxury’ through the Lyric.”

Cadillac plans to support Park Tae-hwan’s activities in Korea, ensuring they are safe and special, while also planning various collaborative initiatives.

Meanwhile, Cadillac is currently running the ‘Shape of Art’ Lyric nationwide test drive event until July 30, where customers can apply for test drives through the KakaoTalk Cadillac Korea channel and experience the Lyric at dealerships, receiving various benefits.
