Renault Korea is launching a joint promotion with POSCO to celebrate the release of its new mid-size SUV, the ‘New Renault Koleos’.
Renault Korea and POSCO have collaborated for several years, advancing joint efforts in automotive sheet materials, applying new technologies, and developing various marketing strategies.
This joint promotion event, held on the 25th at the POSCO Center in Gangnam, Seoul, was attended by Renault Korea’s Purchasing Division Head Hong Young-jin, Sales and Network General Manager Hwang Jae-seop, POSCO Automotive Materials Marketing Head Seo Yu-ran, and POSCO Automotive Sheet Sales Group Head Song Dae-ho, among other officials from both companies.
During this joint promotion event, Renault Korea displayed the New Renault Koleos in the square garden in front of the main entrance of the POSCO Center, providing vehicle explanations and promotional materials to POSCO Group employees and nearby office workers. Additionally, a special promotion for POSCO Group employees will continue until the end of July.
The New Renault Koleos reflects Renault’s core value of ‘everyday driving’ (Voiture à vivre). With a segment-leading wheelbase of 2820mm, it offers ample space and comfort for rear-seat passengers and includes an ‘openR panoramic screen’ that allows passengers to access OTT services, music streaming, and various web services. Furthermore, all trims come equipped with advanced driving assistance features at Level 2 autonomy as standard.
The New Renault Koleos E-Tech Hybrid can drive in electric mode for up to 75% of the total driving range in urban areas. It features 19” tires and boasts a certified fuel efficiency of 15.7 km/l (based on the Techno trim), representing one of the best fuel efficiency ratings in its class. Its excellent performance at high speeds is also a notable characteristic of this multi-purpose mid-size SUV.
The New Renault Koleos utilizes materials and technologies produced by POSCO extensively. The body and chassis incorporate high-quality materials such as ‘Giga Steel’, which has a tensile strength of over 980 MPa, and ultra-high-strength steel (AHSS), ensuring both vehicle lightness and collision safety. POSCO’s welding technology ‘PosZET’, which prevents pore defects in automotive welds and reduces slag, has also contributed to enhancing vehicle stability and lightness. Additionally, the exhaust system of the New Renault Koleos uses stainless steel ‘AL439’ treated with aluminum coating to improve corrosion resistance.

Hwang Jae-seop, General Manager of the Sales and Network Division of Renault Korea, added, “The New Renault Koleos, produced at the Busan plant, which boasts the finest production quality within the Renault Group using world-class POSCO materials, is meeting high customer expectations in sales locations.”
Meanwhile, the New Renault Koleos is expected to begin customer deliveries of the E-Tech Hybrid model on September 6, after completing eco-friendly vehicle certification in August. More detailed information about the vehicle can be found at showrooms or customer service centers.
