Lamborghini has unveiled its first-ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV) super SUV, the ‘Urus SE’, at the ‘Light Theater’ in Walkerhill Hotel & Resort, Gwangjang-dong, Seoul. The event featured Francesco Scardaoni, the Asia-Pacific General Manager of Automobili Lamborghini, who personally introduced the new model.
The Urus SE boasts a new design, optimized aerodynamics, unprecedented onboard technology, and a powerful hybrid powertrain with a combined maximum output of 800 horsepower (CV). Notably, it significantly reduces CO2 emissions, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to future sustainability, while also achieving major advancements in performance and sporty characteristics through cutting-edge technological solutions such as the hybrid powertrain.
Lamborghini President Stephan Winkelmann stated, “The Korean market achieved a significant result last year, ranking seventh in the world, and I am very pleased to present the most powerful super SUV, the Urus SE, to our customers in South Korea, a key market in the Asia-Pacific region.” He described the Urus SE as “an outstanding high-performance vehicle that exemplifies Lamborghini’s DNA in enhancing driving dynamics.” He added, “By presenting the Urus SE to customers, Lamborghini has taken a step further in its electrification strategy, Direzione Cor Tauri.”

The Urus SE excels in comfort, performance, efficiency, reducing emissions, and driving excitement, boasting unprecedented torque and power from a combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. It showcases innovative technological solutions such as the Electric Torque Vectoring system and the Electronic Rear Differential.
The Urus SE is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering an impressive 620 horsepower (456 kW) and 800 Nm of torque, harmonizing with an electric motor that provides 192 horsepower (141 kW) and 483 Nm of torque. Focus was placed on the adjustment strategy between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor to achieve maximum combined output. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in only 11.2 seconds, topping out at 312 km/h. This confirms that the Urus SE is the most powerful Urus ever and a new benchmark in the super SUV category.
The Lamborghini Urus SE redefines the paradigm of SUV design while maximizing aerodynamic efficiency. The exterior emphasizes sportiness and muscularity, featuring a new hood design, headlight cluster with matrix LED technology, a light signature inspired by the bull’s tail, new bumpers, and a striking front grille. Inside, the unique design DNA of Lamborghini is highlighted, providing a user-friendly experience through a large screen and human-machine interface.
The Ad Personam program offers a wide range of customization options to meet customer preferences. It also improves the cooling of the engine and components with optimized airflow through improved air vents and ducts, while new design elements enhance rear downforce for improved stability.
Reducing CO2 emissions by 80% compared to the existing Urus marks a significant step towards electrification.
Lamborghini has achieved an 80% reduction in exhaust emissions with the launch of the Urus SE. Stephen Winkelmann, President of Automobili Lamborghini, stated, “In just a few years, the super SUV Urus has changed the paradigm of SUVs and has become the bestselling model representing the brand. We were able to attract new customers and strengthen our position in the most important markets. With the launch of the Urus SE, Lamborghini will take another step forward in its electrification roadmap, ‘Direzione Cor Tauri.'”
Meanwhile, Automobili Lamborghini announced in January that it plans to expand its carbon neutrality goals by 2030. The brand will invest in achieving carbon neutrality for its production facilities as well as the electrification of existing models and aims to reduce its total carbon emissions per vehicle by 40% compared to 2021 by 2030, thereby expanding its carbon emissions program across the entire value chain.
