Unleashing Power: The New BMW M 1000 XR Is Here!

‘New M1000 XR’

BMW Motorrad officially launches the ‘New M 1000 XR’, a high-performance crossover model in South Korea.

The New M 1000 XR is the third M model introduced by BMW Motorrad, combining excellent long-distance riding capabilities with the dynamic performance of a super sport motorcycle. With over 200 horsepower and a lightweight design of just 223 kg, it delivers a uniquely dynamic riding experience on both regular roads and tracks, thanks to the latest chassis design.

The BMW New M 1000 XR features a water-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine derived from the super sports motorcycle, BMW S 1000 RR, which has been tuned for long-distance travel. This engine produces a maximum output of 201 horsepower and peak torque of 113 Nm, capable of reaching up to 14,600 rpm. The BMW ShiftCam technology, which controls the depth and timing of the intake valve opening, enables high torque even in mid to low-speed ranges.

Riding modes include Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and three individually customizable Race Pro settings, optimizing engine responsiveness and torque for each mode. The Shift Assistant Pro allows for clutchless gear changing, ensuring rapid shifts and comfort during long rides.

The BMW New M 1000 XR achieves excellent riding stability, consistent with high M model performance. Its front suspension, equipped with 45mm diameter upside-down forks, manual spring rate adjustment, and a ten-setting steering damper, provides a comfortable riding experience on regular roads and an intuitive racing performance on tracks through the Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) suspension strut, which comes as standard.

Complementing its powerful performance, the New M 1000 XR boasts impressive braking capabilities. The M brakes fitted to the motorcycle are developed based on years of know-how in motorcycle racing, providing extreme braking performance, stability, and a high level of maneuverability. Additionally, the Brake Slide Assist function enhances cornering capabilities during track riding.

The BMW New M 1000 XR incorporates various specifications for weight reduction, including an M lightweight battery, a titanium muffler with carbon end caps, and ultra-light forged aluminum wheels, ensuring agile handling. M winglets are also added to the front panel to increase downforce and enhance comfort, providing excellent high-speed stability despite high output and lightweight design.

Furthermore, the New M 1000 XR comes standard with a 6.5-inch TFT display, Headlight Pro with adaptive cornering lights, tinted sports windscreen, heated grips, Keyless Ride, cruise control, and USB charging sockets for high riding convenience.

Choosing the optional M Competition Package allows for lightweight components such as black storm metallic body color, ultra-lightweight M carbon wheels, M footrests for driver and passenger, M rear fender, chain guard, M carbon side panels, and M carbon cockpit, reducing weight by an additional 3 kg.

The price for the base model of the BMW New M 1000 XR is 42,900,000 KRW, while the New M 1000 XR M Competition costs 49,500,000 KRW.
