KT M-Mobile Launches ‘Safe Plans’ to Combat Voice Phishing and Online Fraud

KT M-Mobile announced on the 3rd that it has launched three ‘Safe Plans’ aimed at preventing and protecting customers from voice phishing and online transaction scams (hereafter referred to as ‘online fraud’).

As financial scams utilizing voice phishing and smishing become more sophisticated, the incidents of online transaction scams between individuals are also on the rise. To minimize and compensate for voice phishing and online scam damage for its 1.6 million customers, KT M-Mobile has introduced a plan that combines the premium voice phishing prevention solution from ‘Whistle’.

The newly launched ‘Safe Plans’ include ▲ All You Can Use 7GB+ (Whistle Safety) (17,400 KRW/month) ▲ All You Can Use 15GB+ (Whistle Safety) (20,900 KRW/month) ▲ All You Can Use 11GB+ (Whistle Safety) (33,900 KRW/month), providing Whistle’s premium voice phishing prevention solution to prevent voice phishing, smishing (SMS phishing) and online fraud.

By subscribing to this plan, customers can enjoy benefits such as ▲ Voice Phishing Prevention Solution ▲ Compensation for Voice Phishing and Smishing Damage ▲ Compensation for Online Fraud Damage ▲ Legal fees for hiring a lawyer to deal with Voice Phishing/Smishing cases.

The voice phishing prevention solution includes ▲ Voice Phishing Detection: Real-time analysis of call content and risk notifications ▲ Call Interception Detection: Detects when a customer’s outgoing call is connected to another number ▲ Voice Phishing Number Notification: Alerts guardians upon receiving calls categorized as phishing risk numbers ▲ Smishing URL Detection: Free service that detects the risk of URLs included in text messages.

Notably, the standout feature is that it compensates up to 1 million KRW for various types of damages including financial losses due to voice phishing, online fraud, and electronic finance scam legal fees. The ‘Safe Plans’ support unlimited calls and texts, and even after exhausting the monthly data allowance, customers can use data without limits at speeds ranging from 1Mbps to a maximum of 3Mbps, depending on the plan.
