The new Range Rover Velar can wirelessly update 80% of the vehicle’s entire ECU via Software-Over-The-Air (SOTA), covering the Pivi Pro infotainment, navigation maps, onboard diagnostics, chassis, and powertrain systems.

Optionally available, the Meridian™ 3D Surround Sound System provides an immersive audio experience with 17 speakers and a 750W amplifier. Coupled with active road noise cancellation technology, it boasts class-leading quietness. This technology detects external frequencies and automatically removes noise through the internal audio system, reducing the overall noise level within the vehicle by at least 4dB, equivalent to turning down the audio volume by four steps.

The new Range Rover Velar creates an indoor environment that serves as a tranquil sanctuary, showcasing Range Rover’s characteristic sophisticated and delicate technology. By enhancing comfort and convenience with advanced technology, it also carefully considers the health of both the driver and passengers.

Newly applied in the Range Rover Velar P400 Dynamic HSE trim, the latest Interior Air Purification Plus system not only maintains excellent indoor air quality but also improves the concentration of the driver and passengers. This includes a Purify function that activates the ionizer to automatically identify and reduce allergy-triggering factors such as PM2.5 particles, dust, and pollen, alongside a CO2 management feature that lowers indoor CO2 levels by recirculating indoor air and an ION function that purifies airborne viruses and eliminates unpleasant odors using Nanoe™ X technology.

‘Range Rover Velar Front Profile’

The new Range Rover Velar significantly enhances visibility at night, equipped with state-of-the-art pixel LED headlights featuring signature daytime running lights (DRL). This system, standard on the P400 Dynamic HSE trim, is considered one of the most advanced lighting technologies available today. Each headlight includes four pixel modules and 67 precision-controlled LEDs, delivering optimal forward lighting effects. The intelligent beam, featuring three times more LEDs than traditional matrix headlights, is designed to maximize light output and enhance nighttime driving.

The dynamic bend lighting feature secures visibility not achievable with standard headlights by rapidly adjusting the main beam pattern based on steering angle and trajectory. Additionally, adaptive driving beams detect up to four objects ahead and appropriately darken around them, safeguarding the visibility and safety of oncoming drivers. This system automatically regulates forward lighting based on the vehicle’s speed, illuminating a wider area at lower speeds and projecting stronger, longer light at speeds over 70 km/h.

The Ingenium gasoline engine in the Range Rover Velar P400 Dynamic HSE, equipped with mild hybrid (MHEV) technology, achieves exceptional fuel efficiency and performance simultaneously. The MHEV technology uses a belt-integrated starter generator (BiSG) to recover lost energy during deceleration and store it in a 48V lithium-ion battery. BiSG ensures rapid response and precision operation of the stop-start system and provides additional support to the engine during acceleration, enhancing efficiency.

With powerful performance, the P400 Dynamic HSE trim is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder Ingenium gasoline turbo engine. The 2,997cc P400 HSE’s Ingenium engine, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivers a maximum output of 400 horsepower and generates a robust maximum torque of 56.1 kg·m across a range of 2,000 to 5,000 rpm. Its top speed is 250 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. Such remarkable performance is accompanied by a combined certified fuel efficiency of 8.9 km/L (urban 8.0 km/L, highway 10.4 km/L).

On the other hand, the P250 Dynamic SE trim, equipped with a 1,998cc four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline turbo engine, combines with an 8-speed automatic transmission to achieve 250 horsepower and a maximum torque of 37.2 kg·m within the 1,300 to 4,500 rpm range. Its top speed is 217 km/h, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds.

The premium chassis and suspension setup of the new Range Rover Velar provide the signature comfort and refinement expected of a Range Rover. The new Range Rover Velar P400 Dynamic HSE is equipped with Adaptive Dynamics as standard, optimizing suspension stiffness based on driving conditions to improve ride comfort and handling. This system continuously adjusts damping by monitoring wheel movement at 500 times per second and body movement at 100 times per second.

The electronic air suspension applied to the P400 Dynamic HSE offers a luxury ride while increasing ground clearance up to 251mm, enhancing the new Range Rover Velar’s off-road performance. It also features self-leveling technology that maintains optimal ground clearance when towing or transporting heavy loads, guaranteeing comfort and stability under all conditions. Additionally, the P400 Dynamic HSE trim includes a new fording depth detection feature.

The intelligent torque-on-demand AWD system ensures top-tier off-road performance based on Range Rover’s various capabilities. This system allocates optimal torque according to the situation during dynamic on-road driving or starting on slippery surfaces.

Robin Colgan, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Korea, stated, “The new Range Rover Velar perfectly embodies Land Rover’s modernist design philosophy, revealing bold elegance and a distinct dramatic presence in any situation with its optimized proportions. Through the evolved new Range Rover Velar, customers can experience the modern luxury that Range Rover strives for.”
