BYD Korea: The Automotive Black Hole Attracting Talent

‘BYD’s 7 Millionth Production Model: Denza’

BYD Korea is emerging as a black hole attracting talent in the automotive industry. As it prepares for its domestic launch in the second half of the year, BYD is ramping up its workforce.

The president of BYD Korea is Ding Haimei, a Chinese national. Jo In-cheol, who previously worked at MINI Korea, has transitioned to serve as the vice president since April. Additionally, employees from other brands are being assigned to various roles at BYD. The PR manager comes from Nissan Korea, the sales manager is from Volvo Korea, and the after-sales manager is from Stellantis Korea. Currently, the primary staffing is complete, and they are in the process of selecting practical managers across different departments, including marketing. It is reported that several employees have also moved from Renault and General Motors.

As more people transition to BYD, the industry is increasingly interested in further staff movements. Both current employees and those who have faced career breaks are showing interest in opportunities at BYD Korea. Headhunters are also actively seeking talent. Although BYD Korea currently has fewer than 30 employees, the company is expected to expand rapidly through hiring.

BYD Korea is located in the Dongja-dong Twin City near Seoul Station. The company is reportedly planning to move its office in line with the official launch of its branch.
