Genesis has launched the luxury mid-size SUV ‘GV70 Facelift Model’ on May 8 (Wednesday).
Initially released in December 2020, the GV70 has proved its excellent product competitiveness with over 200,000 units sold globally thanks to its dynamic and elegant design, powerful performance, and various convenience features.
The newly revealed GV70 is a facelift model presented approximately three years and four months later, reborn with a more refined design and enhanced product appeal based on Genesis’s design philosophy of ‘Athletic Elegance’.

Genesis has elevated the exterior design of the GV70 by adding elaborate yet dazzling details and new lamps equipped with advanced technology based on the design philosophy of ‘Athletic Elegance’.
The front end features a crest grill with a double mesh structure, finely polished for a luxurious touch, and the headlamps reflecting Genesis’s signature dual-line design are equipped with MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology, perfectly harmonizing advanced technology with elegant design.
The front bumper incorporates a sturdy-looking skid plate and horizontally extended air ducts, adding to the SUV’s robust impression, while the sides feature newly designed 19-inch dark hyper silver wheels further enhancing its premium feel.
The rear end integrates the turn signals previously located on the bumper with the rear combination lamps to create a two-line graphic, improving visibility, and features a streamlined design for the high-mounted stop lamp (HMSL) located on the rear spoiler, completing a clean and tidy appearance.
The interior of the GV70 has evolved into a luxurious space offering a refined experience by inheriting the beauty of white space and elliptical elements while adding a high-tech sensibility.
Genesis has equipped the GV70 with a 27-inch integrated wide display that combines the cluster and infotainment system, along with a touch-type climate control interface, emphasizing an advanced feel.
Additionally, features such as ▲ mood lamps extending from the top of the door trim to the center fascia ▲ a crystal-designed electronic shift dial (SBW) ▲ a hood cover adorned with the new Genesis emblem ▲ a two-tone steering wheel ▲ detailed stitching enhance the luxury of the interior.
Exterior color options for the GV70 include a total of 12 colors, including a new color ‘Ceres Blue’ (glossy/matte), while the interior offers five standard colors and four exclusive colors for the sports package.

Genesis also offers the ‘GV70 Sports Package’, which enhances the sporty image of the GV70 with dynamic interior and exterior elements.
The front of the GV70 Sports Package emphasizes the sporty SUV image with a ‘Double Layered G-Matrix’ pattern crest grill and expanded air intake.
The lateral view is further accentuated through two types of newly designed wheels that amplify its sportiness. The 21-inch dark metallic wheel features five spokes with black dual lines at the rim, expressing Genesis’s uniqueness, while the 19-inch dark metallic wheel creates a dynamic atmosphere through cross-stitching different finishes on two spokes.
The rear design harmoniously positions a rear diffuser and muffler tips in dark chrome, creating a differentiated impression exclusive to the sports package.
Inside, the GV70 Sports Package features ▲ a dedicated D-cut steering wheel ▲ orange seat belts and stitching newly applied to enhance its sporty appeal.

The GV70 provides a luxurious driving experience with an even softer ride and increased quietness.
Genesis has incorporated an auto terrain mode that automatically selects the optimal driving mode based on real-time road conditions, and has added hydraulic bushings, previously used in the front suspension, to the rear suspension to enhance ride comfort.
By optimizing steering tuning, the GV70 enables more stable body actions and offers a reliable braking performance with the standard application of 4P monoblock calipers and optimized brake feel.
In addition, the GV70 utilizes ANC-R (Active Noise Control-Road), an active noise control technology that significantly enhances quietness. (※ Applicable when choosing the Bang & Olufsen high-resolution sound system)
This technology measures and analyzes road noise in real-time through sensors and microphones installed throughout the interior, while emitting opposite-phase sounds through speakers, radically lowering the perceived noise levels.

Genesis operates the GV70 engine lineup with a 2.5 turbo gasoline and a 3.5 turbo gasoline engine, adding a 2WD option to the previously AWD-only 3.5 turbo gasoline engine to expand customer choices.
The starting prices for the GV70 are ▲ 2.5 gasoline turbo 53.8 million won ▲ 3.5 gasoline turbo 59.3 million won, while the GV70 Sports Package is priced at ▲ 2.5 gasoline turbo 56.95 million won ▲ 3.5 gasoline turbo 62.65 million won. (※ Based on 2WD)
A Genesis representative stated, “The GV70 is one of Genesis’s most popular core models that allows you to feel wonderful style in every moment with it,” adding, “With this facelift, we expect it to become a luxury SUV loved by even more customers.”
Meanwhile, Genesis is also introducing exclusive customization products alongside the GV70 launch.
The customization products include the newly introduced ▲ 21-inch matte black lightweight forged wheels (exclusive to sports package) as well as ▲ vehicle protection film ▲ side steps ▲ protection mat package ▲ built-in air purifier, totaling five items.
Genesis plans to operate a special exhibit where customers can experience the new GV70 from May 18 (Saturday) to 26 (Sunday) at Genesis Suji, on the 4th floor and rooftop.
During the special exhibit period, various interior and exterior design elements of the GV70 will be showcased on the 4th floor, as well as the opportunity to experience technologies that provoke sensory immersion, such as sound and mood lamps.
On the rooftop, both the standard model and sports package model in the newly introduced exterior color of Ceres Blue will be on display, creating a lounge area to take in the beautiful weather while enjoying the cars.
On Saturday evenings, performances showcasing the dynamism of the GV70 will take place in the rooftop lounge alongside non-alcoholic cocktails. (※ More details will be available later on the Genesis website)
