Jaguar TCS Racing Dominates in Berlin: A Weekend of Victory and Strategy

The Jaguar TCS Racing team announced that they secured first and second places in rounds 9 and 10 of the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held in Berlin on May 11 and 12.

As of round 10, Nick Cassidy achieved a record for reaching the podium for the seventh time this season, placing him at the top of the driver standings. Cassidy has also completed a hat trick by setting the fastest lap times in each of the past three rounds, earning additional points.

In round 9 on May 11, Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans started from the ninth and tenth grid positions, respectively. Mitch Evans maintained the lead from the early stages of the race and continued his momentum into the later parts, ultimately finishing in fourth place and securing points. Cassidy implemented an efficient strategy to maximize energy and capitalized on an energy advantage towards the end of the race, winning by a margin of 4.6 seconds.

The following day in round 10’s qualifying duel, Nick Cassidy started the race from the front of the grid. He and the Jaguar TCS Racing team utilized the exceptional performance of the I-TYPE 6 to maintain a leading position until activating the first attack mode on lap three. Cassidy executed an impressive overtake on Oliver Rowland of the Nissan Formula E Team with just two laps remaining, claiming second place.

Mitch Evans showcased a strong performance in the lead group at the Tempelhof Circuit while managing the energy strategy of the Jaguar I-TYPE 6. Competing fiercely for the podium until the last three laps, Evans finished sixth and earned more points.

After successfully completing the doubleheader in Berlin, Jaguar TCS Racing has solidified its position at the top of the 2024 World Championship team standings with 237 points, extending the gap to the second-place team by 54 points. Currently, Nick Cassidy has reclaimed the lead in the driver standings, while Mitch Evans is in fifth place.

Thanks to our team maintaining optimal condition, we recorded even better lap times than yesterday. This race exemplifies the importance of not only excellent racing skills but also timely decision-making.” He added, “Achieving first and second place with Nick Cassidy on the podium for two consecutive days and Mitch Evans competing fiercely for the podium until the end was truly inspiring. The experience from this race will serve as significant motivation for next week’s event in Shanghai.”

Meanwhile, rounds 11 and 12 of the 2024 ABB Formula E World Championship will take place in Shanghai, China on the 25th and 26th.
