Hyundai Launches Future Mobility School for 2024: Shaping Tomorrow’s Industry Leaders

Hyundai Motor Company is actively recruiting for the ‘Future Mobility School for the second semester of 2024’ to cultivate talents in the future mobility industry.

Running from May 29 (Wednesday) to June 21 (Friday), the ‘Future Mobility School’ features specialized career education for middle school students as part of the free semester system and creative experiential activities for elementary students, designed to broaden the youth’s perspective on future mobility and help them explore their career paths.

Launched in 2016 as the first private company to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education, the Future Mobility School has been operating until the first semester of 2024 across 2,355 domestic middle and elementary schools as well as schools abroad, benefiting approximately 95,600 students. The program has been well-received in the education community, providing hands-on, student-led activities that allow participants to experience the development process of the mobility industry and the innovative mobility technologies that will shape the future, including autonomous driving and robotics.

The Future Mobility School introduces next-generation mobility solutions and device technologies centered on clean mobility and sustainability, providing educational materials such as mobility upcycling and autonomous driving experience kits to support students’ engaged participation in the classes.

Moreover, to enhance students’ academic achievements, the program is designed to connect with existing subjects such as science and environmental studies. Teachers from participating schools will directly conduct the classes, and resources like online training and teaching manuals will be provided to enhance teacher competency in the mobility field.

To increase participation opportunities for rural and specialized schools, a separate evaluation will be conducted during the selection process to ensure equal educational opportunities for the youth who will lead the future mobility industry.

The classes are available for middle school students through regular and short-term programs and for elementary students in grades 4-6.

The regular middle school program will focus on ‘Smart City Life Enjoyed Through Clean Mobility’, while the short-term middle school program will be centered on ‘Human-Centered Future Smart Cities’, and the elementary program’s theme will be ‘Sustainable Daily Life Created by Future Mobility’.

Based on the trust and expertise cultivated through operating educational programs in Korea, Hyundai has partnered with the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of International Understanding (APCEIU) to promote educational exchanges with ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand since 2023. Teachers dispatched to these countries will receive support for future mobility programs and special educational content related to themes like eco-friendly mobility and smart cities. Future plans include expanding educational exchanges with countries in the Asia region.

Schools wishing to participate in the Future Mobility School for 2024 can apply from May 29 (Wednesday) to June 21 (Friday), and detailed information can be found by searching for ‘Future Mobility School’ on Naver.

A Hyundai representative stated, “The classes at the Future Mobility School will provide the next generation with an opportunity to explore career paths based on an understanding of the next-generation mobility industry,” and emphasized, “We will continue to diversify educational programs that engage the future generation to foster sustained interest in the mobility industry, creating the momentum to build a better future together with them.”
