Range Rover and Wimbledon: A Historic Partnership in Luxury

JLR Korea announced a historic partnership between the world’s most luxurious SUV brand, Range Rover, and the Wimbledon Championship, the tennis tournament with the longest history and tradition in the world.

The Wimbledon Championship, representing British summer, is an esteemed Grand Slam event viewed by millions worldwide. In 2024, Range Rover will participate as the official vehicle partner for the first time, supporting this prestigious tournament. After being a partner with Jaguar, the support for the Wimbledon Championship by JLR has continued for over ten years.

Through over 50 years of evolution, Range Rover presents the most luxurious SUVs to date and leads the industry. This is based on Range Rover’s breathtaking modernity, unparalleled sophistication, and unmatched performance. Range Rover is set to reveal its first all-electric vehicle by the end of this year.

The new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models will be used for players, teams, and officials to travel to official venues during the tournament. To maximize the all-electric driving range of up to 120.7 km (75 miles), on-site charging facilities are expected to be utilized.

Reducing exhaust emissions is a key element of Wimbledon’s commitment to sustainability. The newly completed indoor tennis center’s on-site charging infrastructure not only uses renewable energy but also has the capacity to accommodate more hybrid and electric vehicles, bringing the All England Club one step closer to achieving its carbon-neutral goal by 2030.

Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director of Range Rover, stated, “As an iconic British cultural event watched by millions around the world, the Wimbledon Championship offers Range Rover an excellent opportunity to engage with global customers through creative storytelling. This will not only perfectly capture the luxury and sophistication of Range Rover but will also showcase the synergy between two modern luxury brands — Range Rover and Wimbledon.”

Deborah Jevans, Chair of the All England Club, expressed, “We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with JLR with Range Rover being announced as the official vehicle partner. I am particularly pleased that we have included a number of PHEVs that can operate as much as possible in EV mode, minimizing exhaust emissions. This is another step towards achieving the All England Club’s goal of carbon-neutral operations by 2030.”

The Wimbledon Championship is set to take place from July 1 to 14 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
