Introducing the Torres EVX Van: The Future of Versatile Electric SUVs

‘Torres EVX VAN’

KGM Mobility announced on the 30th that it will launch the electric SUV ‘Torres EVX Van,’ the first of its kind in Korea, showcasing the charm of a van suitable for both work and everyday life.

The Torres EVX Van, being the first domestic electric SUV van model, inherits the stylish design of the Torres EVX, steering away from the ruggedness typically associated with cargo vehicles. It boasts not only an EV feel but also futuristic and refined aesthetics, along with excellent versatility, exceptional safety features, and reasonable economic efficiency, showcasing its value for money.

Additionally, the Torres EVX Van, which has been added to the Torres lineup, can meet diverse customer needs for work and leisure.

With a maximum cargo space of 1,462 liters and the ability to carry loads weighing up to 300 kg, the vehicle proves its worth by being used for business during weekdays and maximizing recreational value during weekends. A rear window partition and safety bar enhance visibility to ensure safe cargo transport, while a digital room mirror (DRM) providing security via rear glass camera ensures safety regardless of the height or volume of the cargo.

Moreover, the Torres EVX Van comes with advanced driving safety systems as standard, including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) starting from the entry model (TV5), along with a total of eight airbags, including a knee airbag for the driver, maximizing safety.

In addition, the Torres EVX Van is equipped with a 73.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade battery, validated for durability and safety, offering the longest domestic warranty of 10 years/1 million km. This setup achieves a driving range of 411 km on a single charge (based on 18-inch tires) and delivers powerful driving performance with 207 horsepower and a torque of 34.6 kgf·m through efficient power tuning.

The price of the Torres EVX Van by trim level is ▲TV5 44,380,000 KRW ▲TV7 46,290,000 KRW. When combined with a government subsidy of 3,940,000 KRW (for 18-inch models) and various local subsidies (from 1,430,000 KRW in Seoul to 4,240,000 KRW in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do), it boasts significant value for money. Additionally, being classified as a light-duty electric vehicle invites various tax benefits such as a 5% exemption on individual consumption tax, education tax exemption, 5% acquisition tax exemption (up to 1,400,000 KRW discount), and an annual vehicle tax of 28,500 KRW.

Moreover, annual operating costs can be reduced by over 2 million KRW. Driving 20,000 km a year with a general gasoline SUV model (11.2 km/l) would cost approximately 3 million KRW in fuel, while the Torres EVX Van only takes about 900,000 KRW, allowing for savings around 2.1 million KRW, alongside 50% reductions in highway tolls, availing further electric vehicle incentives. (Gasoline price: 1,685 KRW/liter based on May 24, Offinet / Electricity: 220 KRW/kWh)

Customers who own diesel vehicles and proceed with early scrapping may receive additional government subsidies of up to 9.5 million KRW based on specific conditions.

According to a KGM official, “The Torres brand offers a range of extended models, from gasoline-powered Torres and Torres Van to LPG+gasoline dual-fuel Torres, electric Torres EVX, and Torres EVX Van, allowing customers to select options that suit their lifestyle. We plan to introduce more extended models in accordance with customer needs in the future,” he stated.
