SK Telecom Enhances AI Assistant with Advanced Call Features

SK Telecom has announced the enhancement of its AI personal assistant, ‘A.Dot’, which now includes advanced call services for Android users, such as the ‘Interpretation Call’ feature.

By launching the call service on the A.Dot Android version, SK Telecom will not only provide basic call functions like recording and summarizing calls, but also introduce the real-time translation service, ‘Interpretation Call’, which was first offered in December last year on the iPhone version (iOS).

The existing ‘Call Summary’ service available on the A.Dot Android version will now be replaced with a phone service exclusively for SKT customers. SKT customers can access this new call service by signing up, while customers from other telecom providers won’t be able to use the call service but can still utilize the existing ‘Call Summary’ feature.

Furthermore, corporate clients can also join A.Dot’s call service if they have a verified corporate phone, allowing them to access features like call recording and summarization, AI suggestions, and Interpretation Calls.

The latest update to A.Dot’s calling service includes the ‘AI Spam Indicator’ feature. This feature helps users identify spam calls by showing the spam rating (Phishing Warning / Spam Warning / Suspicious Spam) when receiving calls from unknown numbers. The AI spam prediction is based on the real-time detection of unusual patterns in phone numbers by SK Telecom’s AI spam detection system, which assigns a spam score accordingly.

Users can also view the number of ‘Okay/Not Okay’ responses and evaluation phrases provided by the T-Call Safe Call feature, directly within A.Dot Call. With additional ‘AI Spam Prediction’ information, the service can now filter out newly active spam numbers before user evaluations are accumulated, significantly enhancing user protection.

The ‘AI Spam Indicator’ feature will be applied immediately to iPhone (iOS) users, while Android users can expect support in April.

Another new feature being offered in A.Dot Call is the ‘Business Contacts’ feature, which allows users to easily search for business phone numbers not saved in their contacts through mutual search functionality.

This feature will be available on both iPhone and Android, exclusively for company subscribers. Information registered in ‘Business Contacts’ can be checked in contact searches, call screens, and call history.

Kim Yong-hoon, head of SKT’s AI Service Division, stated, “With this update, we aim to greatly enhance the user experience of the A.Dot Call service, and we will continue to introduce services that provide new value to our customers by leveraging AI technology.”
