Porsche Korea has announced the official launch of the new 3rd Generation Panamera, a luxury sports sedan equipped with a more powerful drive system. Initially, the Panamera 4 and the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid will be available in the domestic market, with plans to launch the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid later this year.

The new 3rd Generation Panamera is characterized by an extensive array of digital features, impressive design, and a wide spectrum of dynamic performance and driving convenience. With a modern operating concept and innovative technology, it positions itself as the most dynamic sedan in its segment through a more powerful E-Hybrid powertrain and high-performance suspension system.

Holger Gehrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, stated, “The Panamera, which creates a unique harmony from the contrasting elements of sports car performance and sedan convenience, is the essence of a luxury sports sedan and symbolizes the brand’s transformation and innovation. The newly upgraded 3rd Generation Panamera, featuring significantly improved engines, appealing design, and an optimized digital environment, will demonstrate its strong presence in the domestic luxury class,” he said.

The official launch event held on April 2nd at the Shilla Hotel, Dynasty Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, drew significant attention as it unveiled the new Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid and Panamera 4 together.

Porsche AG’s Panamera Product Line President Thomas Primus was present in Korea to introduce the new Panamera and emphasize the importance of the Korean market. He stated, “The new Panamera, reborn with technical innovations and advanced design, provides the perfect balance between a sporty lifestyle and comfortable luxurious travel, showing the direction of the Porsche brand.” He added, “I am truly pleased to present the Panamera in Korea, one of the markets where brand value and customer needs harmoniously align.” Last year, Porsche Korea sold 1,818 Panameras, making it the third largest market globally.

For Porsche, optimal performance equates to an optimized drivetrain. The new Panamera has undergone a complete upgrade of its engine, focusing on a sustainable, cutting-edge drivetrain and efficiency.

The new Panamera 4 improves performance from its 2.9-liter V6 turbo engine to achieve a maximum output of 360 horsepower and peak torque of 51 kg∙m by optimizing boost pressure, fuel injection timing, and ignition timing. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds and has a top speed of 270 km/h.

The newly introduced Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid is the fourth plug-in hybrid model offered in the Panamera lineup, perfectly aligning with the diverse product range.

The key to the new Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid powertrain is a fundamentally improved 4.0-liter V8 turbo engine. Combined with the newly developed 190-horsepower electric motor, it delivers a total system output of 680 horsepower and an impressive system torque of 94.9 kg∙m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 315 km/h.

With an increased battery capacity of 25.9 kWh, it offers up to 91 km of pure electric driving in the combined WLTP cycle, and between 83-93 km in urban driving. Under optimal charging conditions, the new 11 kW onboard AC charger reduces charging time to under 2 hours and 39 minutes.

The new Panamera features a dual-chamber, 2-valve air suspension equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard. The 2-valve technology separates damper control into rebound and compression stages, providing both ride comfort and sporty performance.

The optional Porsche Active Ride Suspension System on the new Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid model delivers exceptional performance compared to any other suspension concept, offering an unprecedented range between comfortable driving characteristics and dynamics. This is based on new active shock absorbers, each connected to an electric-hydraulic pump along with the 2-valve technology.

The chassis maintains the Panamera’s body in a level position even during dynamic braking, steering, or acceleration. The Porsche Active Ride Suspension System not only offers a smooth ride but also absorbs shocks from bumps almost perfectly while balancing wheel loads during dynamic driving conditions, ensuring perfect road connectivity.

The new Panamera maintains the unique lines and proportions of the Panamera lineup with a length of 5,050 mm, width of 1,935 mm, and height of 1,425 mm, while emphasizing a more impressive and sporty exterior design that highlights its identity as a sports sedan. The additional air intakes secure the airflow required for the drive system, and the newly designed side window lines enhance the sedan characteristics of the four-door sports car. The outer edges of the rear window align with the contours of the body, completing a harmonious line at the rear of the vehicle.

The Porsche Driver Experience cockpit concept features an ideal balance between digital and analog controls, with essential driving functions centered around the driver. The gear selector lever is positioned just to the right of the steering wheel, and the mode switch, allowing selection of Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus, along with driver assistance system controls, are also easily accessible for adjustments without taking eyes off the road.

The optional passenger display enhances the driving experience, with a 10.9-inch screen that displays vehicle performance data, operates the infotainment system, and supports video streaming capabilities—all while being designed to prevent distraction for the driver.

Personal digital environments can also be integrated with the Porsche Communication Management. By scanning the QR code displayed in the PCM with a smartphone, users can log in with their personal Porsche ID. Smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto enables correlation of vehicle data, and features from the My Porsche app can be integrated into CarPlay for optimal digital functionality and menu organization.

The new Panamera comes standard with matrix LED headlights, featuring a high-resolution HD matrix LED lighting system with over 32,000 pixels as an optional choice. It offers completely new light functions such as lane brightness adjustment, achieving a maximum visibility range of 600 meters.

The driver assistance systems have also been extensively improved. The new optional remote park assist feature allows drivers to monitor the parking process via smartphone, enabling automatic parking maneuvers without anyone in the vehicle.

Additionally, significantly expanded standard features compared to the previous generation include dual-valve dual-chamber air suspension, LED matrix headlights, park assist, a driving mode switch on the steering wheel, a smartphone holder with 15W rapid wireless charging capability, and a new air purification system. The models released in Korea will have sensors that selectively detect concentrations of fine dust particles in the air and, if necessary, pass the air through the fine dust filter multiple times.

The selling prices for the new Panamera 4 and Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid, including VAT, are 176.7 million won and 309.1 million won, respectively. The Panamera 4 is scheduled for customer delivery starting from May, while the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid will begin in the second half of the year.
