Experience the Thrill: Toyota Korea’s 7th GR Racing Class Unleashed

‘Toyota GR Class’

Toyota Korea announced that it hosted the ‘GR Racing Class’ for customers on the 6th at the Inje Speedium.

This year marks the 7th edition of the ‘GR Racing Class’, an event organized by Toyota Korea to broaden the base of motorsports and contribute to the revitalization of racing culture.

Customers owning Toyota GR models such as the GR Supra and GR86, as well as high-performance Lexus models like the F and F Sport, RC, and LC, had the opportunity to experience racing circuit driving with their own vehicles, garnering enthusiastic support each year.

This year, the training related to motorsports was further enhanced, and track driving time was also increased to boost participant satisfaction. All customers who attended the event received theoretical training on driving techniques for safe driving and practical circuit driving training at Inje Speedium, where they experienced basic driving processes such as ▲ Corner Braking ▲ Rain Change ▲ Slalom. Following this, participants progressed to a more advanced driving curriculum, which included ▲ 1-on-1 coaching with professional driving instructors ▲ Fox Hunting ▲ Gymkhana ▲ Circuit Safari, providing them with an opportunity to personally enjoy the thrill of driving.

Additionally, Toyota Korea held the inauguration ceremony for the first batch of ‘Team GR Supporters’ alongside the GR Racing Class. The 12 members of ‘Team GR Supporters’, selected last March, will carry out various missions divided into new media and on-site operations teams until December, aimed at promoting the charm of domestic motorsports and the Toyota GR (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing) brand.

Vice President Kwang Dae-hwan of Toyota Korea stated, “We hope that more customers will experience the joy of driving through the intense performance of Toyota GR,” and added, “We will continue to create opportunities for customers to experience the GR brand more directly and satisfy their various needs.”

Meanwhile, to promote the spread of motorsports culture, Toyota Korea has been participating as a body sponsor applying the design of the GR Supra in the ‘CJ Logistics Super Race Championship Super 6000 Class’ since 2020. This year, they have once again renewed their body sponsoring contract with the Super Race, and starting with the opening match of the Super Race on the 20th, a brand one-make (single model) race called the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Class (PRIUS PHEV Class) will be set up and operated.
