Experience the Future of Mobility and Smart Home: LG’s Innovations at WIS 2024

‘LG Tromm Washing Machine with AI’

LG Electronics is participating in the ‘World IT Show (WIS) 2024’, held in COEX, Gangnam, Seoul from the 17th for three days, to showcase innovative products that implement ‘Empathy Intelligence (AI)’.

In a bid to redefine artificial intelligence, LG has coined the term ‘Empathy Intelligence’ to emphasize its aim to connect with customers and provide a differentiated customer experience through AI technology.

At the front of the exhibition hall (approximately 860m²), the future mobility ‘LG AhlpaBl’ equipped with ‘Empathy Intelligence (AI)’ welcomes visitors. LG AhlpaBl adapts the internal atmosphere based on the mood and condition of its passengers, transforming into different spaces for dining, movies, or games according to their needs.

Alongside LG AhlpaBl, the ‘LG Gram Pro’ sculpture, featuring the latest AI processor, captivates the audience. Here, visitors can engage in AI features led by experts, such as AI image generation and music composition/arrangement, occurring twice daily.

During this exhibition, LG showcases its core technologies that lead the trend in AI home appliances, including ▲ AI chipsets ▲ OLED TVs ▲ washing and drying machines.

In the OLED signage display area, one wall features actual flowing water while the opposite wall replicates waterfalls digitally. Visitors can compare reality with visuals, experiencing LG’s overwhelming OLED technology.

The ‘Alpha 11 Processor’, dedicated to OLED TVs, is also unveiled. It boasts four times the AI deep learning performance compared to previous chipsets, autonomously identifying the creator’s intent in content like movies and sports and adjusting the video at the pixel level for refinement.

It analyzes the space where the TV is installed and optimizes audio from two-channel sources for an immersive experience, while also distinguishing voices from ambient sounds for clearer audio correction.

In the section showcasing the LG Signature washing and drying machine disassembled, LG presents key component technologies, including the ‘AI DD Motor’ and ‘Inverter Heat Pump’, which are essential for differentiated washing and drying.

The AI chipset ‘DQ-C’ embedded in the LG Signature washing and drying machine is an on-device AI processor that synthesizes LG’s technological prowess that first introduced WiFi capability in home appliances in 2011, leading the AI appliance market. It analyzes the fabric’s condition and washing environment to provide tailored wash and spin cycles, adjusting temperature and time for optimal drying.

Additionally, various combining washing and drying machines tailored to lifestyles are exhibited, including the all-in-one washing and drying machine ‘Tromm Objet Collection Wash Combo’, which completes both washing and drying with a single button press, and the ‘Tromm Objet Collection Wash Tower’, a space-saving unit that combines washing and drying functions for large laundry loads.

In the air solution experience area, the LG Puricare Objet Collection 360˚ air purifier operates efficiently through its ‘AI Plus’ feature, analyzing air quality and adjusting performance levels accordingly. This AI mode saves up to 51.2% in power consumption compared to previous versions (as measured by TUV Rheinland), which aids in reducing electricity bills.

The LG Puricare Objet Collection Hydro Tower serves as a premium water humidifier that uses water filtered through a purification system, enhancing humidity levels. In high-humidity seasons, it can also operate as an air purifier, making it highly versatile throughout the year.

Visitors can experience LG’s subscription services aimed at ‘liberating from household chores’ through various services that assist with product maintenance and household tasks in the ‘Subscription House’ established in the exhibition hall.

Through LG’s smart platform ‘LG ThinQ’, attendees can enjoy the experience of operating installed TVs, air conditioners, and lights in the Subscription House.

Additionally, in the camping-themed concept area, the tailored living space ‘Bon Voyage’ for glamping customers, as well as portable screens like the ‘LG Standby Me Go’ that enable outdoor streaming and gaming, and the premium projector ‘LG CineBeam Cube’ that supports up to a 120-inch 4K display in a compact size, are all available for experience.
