‘Kia’s Karim Habib, Vice President, receiving the award at the Car Design Awards’

Kia has once again gained international recognition for its design excellence by winning the ‘2024 Car Design Award’.

Kia announced on the 17th (local time) that it received the award in the ‘Brand Design Language’ category at the 2024 Car Design Awards ceremony held at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, Italy.

The Car Design Award is an accolade organized by the Italian automotive design magazine ‘Auto & Design’. A panel of distinguished automotive journalists from 11 countries including Korea, the UK, Germany, Italy, and Japan selects projects that have made significant contributions to the advancement of automotive design each year.

The award categories include ▲Concept Cars ▲Production Cars ▲Brand Design Language. Kia triumphed in the ‘Brand Design Language’ category over competitors like BMW, Toyota, Cupra, and Lotus.

In line with its corporate vision to provide sustainable mobility solutions, Kia has showcased a high-quality vehicle lineup including the EV9 and EV6 under the design philosophy of ‘Opposites United’, which emphasizes the creative fusion of contrasting concepts. This commitment to maintaining a consistent design direction through various exhibitions and events has received high praise.

The new vehicles born from these efforts have recently been celebrated for their exceptional design. The EV9, launched last year, has swept the world’s top automotive awards, including ‘2024 World Car of the Year’, ‘2024 North American Car of the Year’, and the ‘2024 iF Design Award Gold’.

Kia Global Design Head Karim Habib stated, “This award recognizes the passion and dedication of many designers who have strived to strengthen Kia’s design impact. We will continue to think critically to showcase innovative and sustainable future mobility designs.”

Meanwhile, Kia is participating in the 2024 Milan Design Week, which runs until the 21st of this month, showcasing projects that embody its unique design philosophy. They are actively engaging with visitors through various activities, including exhibitions and events in collaboration with artists from diverse fields such as performing arts, writing, and exhibition planning.
